If you want to get your hands on the newest and largest industry equipment in service come to Olds College. This comprehensive program will give you a thorough understanding of engines, hydraulics, braking, electrical, starting, charging, fuel systems and more. Our classrooms are discipline specific (i.e. motor lab, machinery lab) with small student to instructor ratio and personal wo...rkbenches. With our experienced industry-trained instructors you will receive an education placing you at the forefront of the technical curve. Our extensive tool room exposes students to a wide range of tooling solutions for better problem solving. Our large workshops comfortably house industry equipment for overhaul projects.
The class atmosphere is filled with dedication but at the same time you will find yourself relaxed and informal. We have fun! The Steak Fry & Car Bash, volunteering with STARS, and our very popular Shop Night are all Ag Mech club functions!

Applications for the Land Agent Diploma program are open for Fall 2018!
Olds College is the leading educational institution in the training of surface land agents in Western Canada. You can play a vital part in negotiating land agreements while acting as a liaison between corporate or government agencies and the landowner.
With our hands-on training in classrooms, labs and field settings you will learn how to play a pivotal role in the acquisition of land. The Land Agent prog...ram teaches land acquisition, land administration, land and agricultural management systems, legal rights, petroleum fundamentals and specialized land and petroleum terminology. During your second year as a student, you will participate in a practicum assignment to further develop your skills.
The Olds College Land Agent program is strongly supported by Canadian Association of Petroleum Landmen, International Right-of-Way Association, and Alberta Association of Surface Land Agents. Olds College students are encouraged to join these associations (at a reduced fee) to interact with industry and build their professional network and secure employment after graduation.

I attended Olds College in 1958,59,60. I was 17 my first year.

We created a close sisterhood of friends who I still keep in touch with today. We have gotten together at reunions over the years and several of us were at the 50th reunion...which was just an amazing time for all of us but we missed a few who had passed on. We also had many fellas come back to the reunion. It was like a "family" reunion except that we all still cared for each other. Haha.

I have always said "they were the best 3 years of my life"!

We learned so much in those years it helped us to learn to take responsibility for ourselves and to realize the only person you can rely on for your success is looking back at you every morning in that mirror. Yes..I LOVED IT!

User

Honestly, Olds College is an amazing facility. After realizing horticulture is not what I want to pursue, They helped me find the program I truly wanted to be in and its been such an amazing experience so far!

User

Had a job secured before I had even started finals. Brad McLeod is a great teacher.

User

Had a great time here

Attending the college was the best time of my life. I met so many people and kept some of them as friends. The memories are what helps me keep moving forward in life because the things I've learned will help me succeed in the future to come. I also really miss my DMP Coffee Shop--where I worked for two years. That was a blast also. I'm also grateful for having the opportunity to live in Frank Grisdale Hall because I love old buildings and my friends were only steps away. I'm currently sitting at home on my couch drinking some Olds College coffee and it's tasting pretty good! Yes, it lasts and lasts, and lasts.....

User

Agriculture management is a great program

User

Attended 2000-2002. Loved the small town atmosphere and hands on learning. I spent a year at University before attending the college and it is such a different experience- a much better atmosphere for rural youth.

User

The Farrier program was awful. One of the farriers brought in to do a demo was drunk and threw a hot shoe at a classmate, nothing was done about it. They played the blame game with us when we had problems or concerns. We were over worked, most of my class was sick and it took me 8 months to get back to normal. And the food is horrible. We were unable to be healthy and work to the best of our abilities when we were being fed garbage food.

Don't go here.
