Hey everyone. Meet Julie, a good friend of mine who’s daughter has stage 4 cancer. #TEAMJULIE started just to show her support as she and her family goes through a really hard time. It was started just to show her that people are rooting for her and to give her something to check out as she sits in the hospital. It has grown incredibly on other oilfield sites on FB as so many hands have shown their support. Figured I would post it here and see if we can give a little help in the movement.

Who else thinks this is like driving down the lease road on matting on the way to the rig....

Don’t know how many of you have been following this.... another prince just died yesterday while being arrested. Shits going crazy over there and I even read that there is a possible war between the Saudi’s and Iran that could erupt.

A short while ago I was on a job and over heard a conversation that although I wasn't privy, these guys made no effort to keep the conversation to them selves. But the conversation was disturbing and the reason the patch is so fucked these days. During the conversation the company man was bragging and laughing how the services were losing money on the job that these services were providing to the oil company. Sure any long term oil field hand will say this goes back and forth... with the roll coaster that is the oilfield. Times will turn again and prices will sore and the hands and services will regain the power... Talked to a lot of people and most feel we are still a couple years away from the good times returning so who knows.
The oilfield is still considered slow yet they can't find hands anywhere to fill available positions that are needing guys but said hands won't be coming back until money starts returning. Lets face it, what made the oilfield a place where guys wanted to work was the fact that the time they gave up away from friends and family yielded substantial financial returns. Shit you could put a good solid number of months and justify it cause you could grab the family and go on a killer trip for two weeks and still have money to spare. These days you put in a good solid few months and you still can't justify extra expenses cause there isn't any left after bills and taxes.
Despite the oilfield crying for hands the oil companies still hold all the cards and keep raking everyone over the coals. She is sad times in the patch boy and girls, hard to be positive and its understandable why no one wants to come back. For those of us that have stuck around, we will continue to to have to deal with the shit they wouldn't attempt to do when times were good and do it with a smile on our face cause really, what the fuck else are we gonna do? Hope the good times come back soon rather than later.

Been a while since I posted but figured this was over due. Yes we are still alive and kicking. When shit started to slow down, we decided to take a step back and slow down our comments and joke, out of respect to the guys that were not having a good go of things... and well shit is still shitty.
We all know its been a hard go for almost everyone. I know guys that have gone bankrupt and lost everything over this slow down. Most of us saw it coming but no one predicted how hard... it would hit or how long it would last. Worst of all, there is still no end in site. At all.. I am a proud oilfield worker, been working in the industry since 96 and thats not including the time I put in on the dirt banks on the edge of location as a child playing with my toys while my grandfather worked. But this slow down has sure beat the shit out of that pride. There are so many guys in much worse shape than me, thats have lost so much more. But its hard not looking back at my last 21-22 years and think it was all for nothing cause these last three years has pretty much stripped everything I worked for away. Just the stress of dealing with the down turn and figuring out how shit is gonna get paid for has cause countless medical issues. Don’t even mention the grey hair. I know this sounds dismal, not our normal good humoured stuff we post, but I guess if someone is looking for some sort of positive message, here it is….
The money we make and the shit we have is only material… As long as you have health you can always get it back. Right now is only about survival and your material losses over the last three years doesn’t gauge your level of success because your not the only one getting your ass kicked. When shit finally does turn around, learn from this. Maybe prepare yourselves better cause we all know its not a matter of “if”, its is a matter of when. I know I have learned a ton and even took advantage of the time to take financial planning and investing courses. It will slow down again and this whole cycle will start yet again. But money will come back, as well as the good times. We will get our toys, trips and trucks back. Here’s to 100+ dollar oil! May we see it again soon!

What a load of crap! Was expecting proper gear for out in the patch when doing my deliveries and pick up's if i want hoodies and tee shirts I'll go to Wal-Mart. The only difference they don't have your logo on them! Oh well back to Mark's!
