Dear Parents,

Little Blue Stars Program is approaching some changes that is going to benefit for sure more then a few parents with pre-school children.

In 2005, original Little Blue Stars Program started as morning and afternoon Pre-school program. Due to personal circumstance in 2010, I had to make rapid changes and decided to operate as a full-time day home, providing more hours of care for children and parents.

While I ran the day home these last 6 years, I recognized that various parents wanted their children to participate in pre-school (part-time 2 or 3 half days a week), but the challenges that I saw with my day home parents were that hey had difficulties arranging transportation for their the children to go back and forth from day care to preschool. The parents who decided to put there children in preschool were under more stress running back and forth or had difficulties finding people to transfer their children. At the same time children seemed more tired and confused with the transferring in being in two different environments per day and had a harder time separating from their parents. Other parents just decided due to this hardship not to send their children to preschool, simple because it was not doable or to avoid all the extra stress. ��This was not the only complaint parents had. Often comments were made; “It seems as if I just dropped my child off and now I have to pick him /her up again. I did not get anything done”. Meaning that the preschool hours are to short to get some real work and appointments done in that time.

With that I came to the conclusion that it would absolute make sense to operate as a Preschool - Day Care Combination. This would resolve the issue of transferring children back and forth to two different environments, and would reduce a significant amount of stress for the children and the parents. With this preschool - day care combo parents don’t have to stress and can set up an actual productive days while their child is attending preschool & child care in one setting.



The program will bring attention to age appropriate social and emotional development throughout the themes and play, (Identifying feelings, sharing, self-awareness, awareness of others, problem solving, compassion and respect). This will be exercised during the free play, games, nature and outdoor play, arts & crafts, music, songs, dress-up, dance, circle time, sharing stories, puppet play and reading.
Some relaxation will be integrated from time to time, by simple toddler yoga, and quite times listening to music.

Particularly in the summer, we will bring or activities outside and have lots of picnics in the nice safe fenced in back yard. We will visit the nature around us with little explores. Being out and about, is part of learning where we live, that we are one with nature and who we are in this world.

Monday 8: 00 - 8: 45 am - 5: 00 PM
Tuesday 8: 00 - 8: 45 am - 5: 00 PM
Wendesday 8: 00 - 8: 45 am - 5: 00 PM
Thursday 8: 00 - 8: 45 am - 5: 00 PM


Bus service from and to school (Elizabeth Rummel) is available. Pickup from Elizabeth Rummel School can be discussed.
