New owners, great staff. Second time going there and haven't been disappointed yet

We have been going for well over a year to have our eyebrows done. Mandy does a great job.

Really wish I had read the reviews. Went in on monday for a pedi/acrylic set. My pedicure was a bit rushed, but it was fine and she was gentle around my blisters that I had gotten from my new sandals. When she started my nails, two people walked in for a pedicure. She was the only one on so instead of saying a time they could come back, she took them. She was going back and forth between the two pedicures and my nails. I asked her for long coffin styles nails cause my fingers look fat with short ones. She did short square nails. She didn't clean the underside at all, and she filed into my skin. It hurt so much and it still really hurts. After we were done I looked at them and I wanted to cry. The nails were uneven and bubbly and my fingers looked so fat. I got my friend who is a nail tech to take them off for me. Better off going to Kim's emerald nails just a few blocks up, they take their time and don't rush. I just got a new set from Kim's and I couldn't be happier. Save your time and money, don't go to paradise nails & spa

I really wish I had read the reviews but was in the area and always wanted to try getting my nails done... So went on a whim.

Well the women who did my nails (and I think is the mother) interrupted a lot with just "yes yes yes" and didn't properly answer any of my questions or do anything the way I wanted.

I went in for just a paint and trim and requested no scuffing of my nails - I naturally have really nice nails and wanted to keep them that way.
She talked me into trying Gel, saying she wouldn't scuff them and that it would take 13 mins (I told her I had another appointment at 2pm so 1pm to 1:13pm didn't seem bad at all) and she would only charge me $40.

Strike 1: Well she scuffed my nails, I wasn't happy but the damage was done so I decided to let her finish.

Strike 2: She took over an hour (I get this process probably takes over an hour but that's why I asked how long it would take as I have never had this done before) and when I reminded her of my 2pm appointment that I ended up being 30mins late for she told me I should have told her earlier about it! Hahaha oh jeez... and when I said that I did tell her about it before... 3 times in fact... She seemed to get angry and started digging her nail into my cuticle while working away.

Strike 3: She got the shape wrong... I told her about 8x what I wanted (round tip, not boxy, short not long) and ended up going back there after my very late 2pm appointment to have her fix the shape; which of course she did half a** job fixing so I needed to fix it at home on my own anyway... Kind of misplaced considering I gave her a generous tip of $12 previous to rushing out the door to my 2pm appointment...

Strike 4: Oh and did I mention that $40 turned into $57 before tip and taxes?

Strike 5: after all is said and done and yes this is my first experience ever... But shouldn't the gel blend with your nail and should there be color over all the nail? I have big gaps between my cuticle and polish. You can see bare nail and the polish kind of lumps up. It looks like I'm wearing cheap stick on nails. Not happy at all...

This woman told me in two weeks to come back for a free fill...
Uh think I will pay the $50 just to go somewhere else to have the junk taken off properly and get what I wanted in the first place... A simple paint and trim.

All in all, I will be surprised if this place is open much longer. These people are in it for the money, not the people at all. I'm actually really really embarrassed I gave her such a good tip... I mean Really embarrassed.

HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE ! LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! I was sceptical about this place after hearing such bad things about it but it's a Sunday morning and everywhere in the area was busy and I needed to get a nail fill... First off none of their tools are sanitized they dip their brushes and tools in alcohol quick then used them on another person ... The man who did my nail fill filed right thru my nail TWICE even after my nails were bleeding he didn't even apologize OUCH hurts SO bad!! You go to a nail salon to be pampered not seriously injured!!! and on top of that they stopped mid-fill many times to answer their personal cellphones. I could have painted my own nails better than they did ... Actually a 2 year old could have... And still made me pay full price !!! Go to HAPPY NAILS AND SPA down the road if you're in the Crescent heights area! This is a photo of my nails ONE DAY after!

Worst experience ever! Went here on a Monday to get a shellac colour change for $20. The next morning the colour was chipping. By the end of Tuesday about half my nails were chipped. The colour change itself was an awful experience. The lady doing my nails was extremely rough and had cuts all of her own fingers (this definitely worried me). When I went back the next day to ask for my money back her response was "$20 is nothing" and wouldn't give my money back. I asked to speak to the manager and she told me to call back at 6:00 to talk to "Andy". I called back at 6 and she heard my voice and hung up on me. This was an awful experience! This nail salon is always empty and cold. I would never go back, even if this was the last nail salon standing.
