Always friendly and helpful... Only knocking off one star, because there's been a couple times that I delt with slightly less than knowledgeable staff, that have steered me in a less-than-perfect Direction.

We are looking for a small caged type pet for a younger girl. This place let's their animals get used to people and they seem less likely to bite. The animals are, for the most part, at a level younger kids can see and interact with them.

Lots of great information but not much staff available to help, but if you have time to wait for help its always worth it.

I always bring my dog to this store for grooming. The staff are always very friendly. There is a very short booking time for dog grooming, which I really find convenient... Other groomers are booked over a month+ out, where's Petland normally only needs a few days notice.

The groomers: Tina and Holly are amazing, and so friendly to the dogs. Not to mention patient and meticulous with their work.

There was an incident that needed a managers attention, and the staff were quick to resolve and remedy the issue. A great company that stands behind their service.

Really disappointed with their level of care not only for their animals but customers as well. This is the second time I've been here in a couple weeks, simply because it's the closest pet store to me. I used to come here all the time as a kid, but have found now they simply just don't care anymore.

I went to buy a few more fish, but each time I go no one talks to me or asks how if I need assistance. Looking at the fish tanks, there are usually dozens dying or dead already on the bottom... I mean I fully understand that fish easily die from transporting them just due to stress, but shouldn't you be at least checking the tanks every so often and removing the dead ones? Awful.

I will take my money elsewhere, most likely Pisces or PetSmart where the staff actually give a damn about the animals as well as providing quality service to people looking to buy and know what questions to ask..

I own a leopard gecko, and I went to look at the other geckos when I got him food, what I saw was HORRENDOUS! There were crickets randomly scattered in the tank, when you need to supervise or else they can eat the gecko's toes if they stay for hours.. they had 2 leopard geckos and one was clearly bullying the other, when I was trying to educate the staff they answered with the rudest questions ever, trying to brush me off. Everything is over priced and they take terrible care of their animals. They were selling bunnies that were FAR too young to be away from their mothers, they had solitary animals ((such as leopard geckos and hamsters)) in the same cage. They paint a false picture, they make it look like heaven when the reality is that it's hell with a shell. Nobody gives a damn about the animals here. When I didn't know any better and got an animal from them, it died right away. I currently have a leopard gecko from them, in horrible condition. Bad breeding caused him to have cross eyes and he is far more sensitive.

I took an appointment to groom my dog and they told me it will take 3 hours. They told me 17h30. Showed up on time to my appointment, asked them how long will it take. They told me an hour. Since it was not that long I decided to stay. It's 17h30, I'm looking through the window, she showed up with another dog on her table and she is grooming it. 18h10 she is still working on that dog. I left and waited (at the Tim Horton close by) for her call. At 18h52, she called to tell me that my dog was ready. So, the way I see it my appointment was 3hours, then 1hours and then 42 minutes. But not even, because 18h10 she was not finished with the other dog and then she had to clean up her work place and call me. So at best it was 30 minutes. So I was on time for my appointment, they worked on my dog half of the time that they were supposed to, but they charged me the full price?! I tried to talk to the manager, but she was not not there, I came back few days later and she was still not there, so I did talk to the assistant manager and explained the situation and asked to her to have the manager call me. Two months later still no news... Very disappointing and not professional at all...

My experience was awful. I wanted to buy fish. I've had fish all my life so I am knowledgeable. The female employee glared at me so condescendingly when I spoke to her, I felt like she was looking at a piece of smelly dung. It was clearly a big effort on her part to even force herself to speak to me. I've not ever been treated this badly as a paying customer. I am always cheerful and pleasant with staff, so this was totally uncalled for. She made me feel like I didn't really deserve to have these fish and interrogated me extensively on my tank size, etcetera, but in a very unpleasant manner. When I asked her a question about the Tetras, she got extremely impatient and rude and just pointed at all the tanks as if to say, "Here they are, stupid, just pick one". Wow. This really upset me. I did nothing to deserve this treatment. She was not treating the other customers this way, so I have no idea why she was like this with me. Quite frankly, I feel psychologically traumatized and I wonder what it was that made her treat me this badly. My husband was with me and witnessed the whole thing, and he too was stunned and appalled. In the end I got my fish, but is a person like this really suited to work with the public? I doubt I will ever venture into that store again. I came a long way from out of town to get these fish, but I'll drive anywhere else but that store next time. The store, by the way, was the Shawnessy location. I have her name, but for liability reasons can't give it out here. It was supposed to be a happy outing getting these new pets, but she turned it into a near nightmare.
