Petland

Reading some of these reviews makes me sad, however everyone has their own experiences. I’ve been going to petland for almost 2 years now for all our animals needs, I usually sneak past the workers as I know what i need but if I do have questions all the staff have been more then helpful and they’ve always been great with our rabbit and bird that I’ll bring in for nail clippings.

All the people who work at Red Deer Petland are so caring, knowledgeable, and friendly! I bought a rabbit from them and won't go anywhere else to purchase supplies!

Only some of the employees are nice and actually know something about animals like they are supposed to and the prices are through the roof. When My boyfriend first got his leopard gecko, we went in to ask some questions and most of the employees tried selling us the most expensive substrates and lights for the tank, but had no knowledge that everything they sold us was so harmful to his gecko that it actually killed him. Just a word of advice, the walnut shell substrate that we were told is great for him was what did it. We know now how important it is to do your research and not depend on Petland workers. From now on I will be going to Petsmart for all of my future animals and supplies.

Thanks for selling me nasty dead rats that killed my 10 y.o corn female snake so much for a breading pair never going back less they pay for my snake

Selling someone's lost pet without trying to find the owners is theft!

I went into Petland today with my two kids from Dayhome. We wanted to get out and see some animals as well I needed to get some fish and tanks for my niece and nephews birthdays. Everything was fine at first until another group with kids came in. An older lady that works in petland get in all a huff and start telling the other employees not to allow anyone to play with the bunnies and basically watch everyone. I understand watching kids but then have someone come over and I don't know be professional and elp the kids pet them? We then decided to go look at the kittens and I not seeing the sign or cats in kennels I asked if they were no longer doing the adoption program anymore. I was replied to with no we are doing a deep clean and they are at riverside kennels, if you read the sign you would know. Then when I asked about the beta tanks I literally had to make the girl follow me so I could show her what I was talking about as I had questions. When I asked if I could but two aside and I would be there later today to grab them she said no. I have never been treated with such disrespect before. I buy all my pets supplies and pets from here. After today I will no longer be. Horrible customer service. Staff needs to learns how customer service works and how to treat their customers.

I bought a couple ranchu goldfish last night & the fish in the tank they were in at the store seemed healthy but today I noticed an anchor worm on the one.l I bought. Today I went back in to buy meds to treat them with & quite a few of the goldfish in the tank had worms sticking out of them & all the fish in the tank were lethargic & looking sick. The whole wall that tank is on shares the same filtration so all those fish tanks will be infected. I'm not happy about being sold fish with worms & won't take them back to exchange for 2 more that are obviously infected & doing worse than the 2 I have now

Horrid service had to return a dead fish. They said they couldn't test the water after I called them specifically to ask what to bring since I was coming from blackfalds . They said my fish died because he was lonely but they told me which fish to get. When I had a complaint the lady at the counter ran to the back to grab the fish guy to speak to me . About my complaint the same guy I had just talked to and he was aweful condescending .
