Petland Westhills

To the person who posted about the price of the cats. Petland doesn't make those prices, they're rescue cats that come from animal shelters, and the shelters make those prices. Both of my cats, I had adopted from petland and honestly the price isn't terrible when you think about it. It includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, and microchipping. You can also get a free bag a food and you get 6 weeks of free pet insurance so honestly it's worth it! Not all cats are going to be active and jumping for joy all the time. All cats are different. Some cats don't like to play, and prefer to be lazy and sleep. Some cats love to play and are just fluffy little psychos. As a cat owner myself who has adopted both of her cats from petland I can assure you these cats are very well taken care of.

I have to drive to Deerfoot meadows because this location is so terrible...which is a huge pain because I live so close to this location. They never have the raw food for cats in stock and when they do its 2 -4 bags. I called one evening before wasting my time driving over to find the food was out of stock and the manager said they were out. My huband went in later that night for our dog food and saw the cat food available. My biggest pet peeve is when they ask if anyone helped us find what we need, no one ever does and if I do have a question the staff run the other direction or they don't know the answer.

I went there today and all I can say is how disappointed I am with how they treat the cats in particular. They are in such a cramped space that it makes my skin cruel. The cats looked so upset. They have a room called "The Fun Room" and my god is it terrible, the cat that was in there would not move, and as a cat owner myself I could tell how sad and depressed it was. I rolled a ball and the cat didn't move. All I can say is the way they treat the cats leaving them stuffed in a 15inch class boxed is barbarous which seem already dead.
As well, I asked how much the cats cost and on average they are about $200, which is ridiculous. I mean at least lower the cost so people could actually buy one and not have to make them suffer in a small box that they can't even move in.
Absolutely disgusted and ashamed how they treat them.

Nobody has a clue what they are doing other than carrying scared animals around pretending they are Ace Ventura types.

If you buy a pet. You have to talk to 3 other pushy sellman. If you say no to the accessories. They will force you to take one. Said it is the policy. Excuse me ? Do not come to this location.

Very dirty store dust everywhere, everything is so over priced...and one lady named trish was very very rude.. asked her a question and she walked away from me?? didn't bother to answer my question and barely acknowledged me... 10 minutes later i saw her again after she was hiding in the back, I tried to ask her again about the best kind of dog food for seniors because she was restocking the dog food i thought she would be the best person to ask but she flat out ignored me?? i mean if she is deaf then i'm sorry for this complaint but i honestly don't think she is cause we made eye contact...

There are always new cats in there that need adoption. They treat all the animals so well and everyone knows their stuff. Super helpful as well. Great selection of food, toys, houses/play structures, and good prices too.
