Great service! Love my nails! The staff was super nice and patient. I would definitly come back! Strongly recommend!

Had a pedicure with my MIL once, that was fine.

My review was about this evening, when me and two of my close friends went for a manicure - and made reservations 3 weeks in advance.

They were rushing to get us out of there. They were terrible, they actually gave my one friend a hangnail, there’s nail polish on my finger, they cut so short that it hit a nerve. They had their jackets on before we were even out the door.

I will NEVER be coming back for a manicure. You pay $30, you expect not to have nail polish on your skin nor a hangnail. I do not recommend them.

Update(Monday Nov/20): My manicure has chipped putting up my Christmas tree - it shouldn’t chip that easily!
I will never be back.

My eyebrows are now two distinctly different shapes! This afternoon was my first time going to the Varsity Phamtastic nails location. I have always had positive experiences at the 855 8 Ave SW #101 location. The lady threading my eyebrows made each look nice in its own way...but very different from each other. This new world of lopsidedness is a scary place. I am hoping the left eyebrow grows back.
Also this location charged 3 dollars more, unless a tip was sneakily added on...

They got me in after the gym for a last-minute appointment with my feet in really rough shape after training. They took the time made me feel comfortable and just an overall fun environment. Definitely a great experience feels amazing and just the personalities that you get there are so sweet and caring. They took the time to talk joke around and find out about you and when to help make you feel great. Thank you guys definitely my go-to place for my next pedicure. Parminder you are awesome! See you in three weeks!

Bianca is the nail technician that I have been going to for years. It's so hard to find a good nail technician for me since I have really high standard when it comes to nails. She is super friendly and funny. Not only that, she always knows what exactly I want for my nails. So glad that I found her in Calgary. :)

UPDATE- so... after asking them to get hold of me several times over the past few weeks - they chose to remain silent.

Further testament to their abysmal lack of service and their "we don't really care about our customers" attitude.

I have found a fabulous new place - Tiffany Nails in Edgemont. If you are looking for a wonderful, friendly, high quality salon -go to Tiffany and avoid Phamtastic (Varsity). You'll be so glad you did. I actually got what I booked in for. My daughter's nails are wonderful.
Oh- and their equipment was sterilized and used on ONE individual, rather than shared instruments like Phamtastic. (Eww!)

I believe in supporting quality businesses (Tiffany) and calling out those who aren't even meeting basic standards. (Phamtastic)

My daughters acrylic nails are thick and not well done.

My 14 year old daughter wanted to do something nice with me for Mother's Day. Sadly, I couldn't let her pay for such shoddy work. This butchery cost me nearly $200!!!

The "owner" responded and blamed ME for their lack of organization. Shocked considering I repeatedly said I wanted shellac for my mani. I have provided further comments below. (After the "owner" commented and blamed fme for her errors.). Of course she didn't actually addres the real issues.

I booked an appointment for my daughter and I to get manicures and pedicures on Saturday (the day before Mother's Day).

We were separated- they started on her manicure and put me at the foot spa.

Once she was done her manicure, she was standing around being constantly displaced. When my pedicure was completed - they sat her and i at a different table. They completely forgot that we had other services still needing to be done.

I booked in for shellac French manicure. I got regular polish and she was in a hurry (because they accepted all of the walk-ins instead of honouring those of us who actually booked appointments).

The white isn't done properly or esthetically.

She cut me when trimming my cuticles and my thumb was bleeding.

There are bubbles in my polish.

They performed a "mini-pedi" on my daughter (essentially just a foot bath and polish).

Her acrylic nails are thick and not very well done.

For all of this - I was charged a whopping $196. I was (and am still) shocked.

It was supposed to be a nice mother-daughter outing and it was a nightmare.

I paid WAY too much for what we got - and I would NOT recommend the varsity location to anyone.

Save your money and let your 6 year old paint your nails. They will do a better job.

This was the worst nail "spa" experience we have ever had. And by far, the most expensive.

I'm shocked by the ignorance of the owner's comment.

Your policy is to blame the client? Not respond to the actual issues.

Perhaps give me a call and we can discuss this.

I certainly did book for mani/pedi for BOTH my daughter AND myself. I also booked for shellac for myself. Rebecca was so rushed, she didn't do a good job on my French tips, she CUT me and made me bleed, my daughter didn't even get a full pedicure AND your prices are outrageous.

If you are the owner - I think we need to talk. This isn't how businesses run here. I'm happy to take this complaint higher up than you - if there is someone higher than you. I find your response to be rude and ignorant.

Awesome Phamtastic Nails & Spa (Varsity)! Lin is is very attentive and makes sure the salon is well run.
Customer service is awesome! Great location and super friendly staff. It is always clean and the staff is welcoming and friendly.
And, my fingers and toes always look great when I leave! I always look forward to my time there!Lovely experience as usual.

Lash extensions with Bianca. She was on time, gracious and attentive to my comments about sensitive eyes. I have sparse and short lashes so I will wait 2 weeks to see if the extensions last.
Salon looked sparkly clean to me, I will have a good close look in a couple of weeks given the unsavoury review below about instruments.
