From the moment we met with Sonny to the end where we did our completion sign off with Brian, our experience with Planit Builders was nothing short of amazing. Having two children in the home and one with special needs we were quite concerned about the dust and dirt that would accumulate during this renovation. They all went over and above to ensure this was all kept to a minimum and each trade cleaned up after themselves. Not only did Brian do an amazing job with keeping us up to date and stopping by every day to check on the project but managed to chuckle when our toddler told him about everything she had planned for her day. Planit Builders is truly a family friendly company that you can tell cares about their customers. It's nice to have someone fully listen when you speak and take everything into consideration that you are requesting. Thank you so much to everyone at Planit Builders for your hard work, caring and outstanding customer service. We will recommend you to everyone!

We recently had our basement developed in our newly built home and are extremely impressed with the quality of the work that went into this project. We chose Planit Builders because of their great reputation and professionalism. We have undergone many renovations in previous homes with mixed results and so a lot of consideration went into choosing a developer for our basement. We are very satisfied with our choice. The project was completed in a timely manner and we are very pleased with the end result. We now have a beautiful basement that matches the quality and finish of the rest of our home. A special thank you to our site supervisor, Patrick, who did an excellent job!

Overall we are extremely pleased with Plan-IT Builders. From the initial quote, transparency of the pricing we were confident we were dealing with true professionals. Through the design and finishing phase we were kept fully informed and involved in the process. The biggest compliment we would have to give is to our site manager, John P. Through the entire build he kept things running smoothly, ironed out any minor issues (there were not many) and delivered our basement exactly on the day promised. The quality of the tradespeople was also consistently good, and the work shows exactly what we asked for, for the exact price quoted at the beginning of the job. 10/10, 5 Stars, cannot say enough good things about Plan-IT Builders.

We had several quotes done regarding the finishing of our basement, Planit was the third company we met with and we immediately knew that they were the company we wanted to deal with. When doing the initial quote with Sonny we were very impressed with his thoroughness and professionalism. Steve was the site supervisor and was an absolute pleasure to deal with. He was in contact with us 3-4 times a week and was at our house at least twice a week to make sure things were being done to our liking. As well the Tradesmen that Steve had doing the job were all true professionals and this showed in the quality of work that was done. Our house is approx 75km outside of the city but this didn't affect any of the work being done as all the Trades showed up when they were scheduled and whenever I met any of them they always personable.
With the basement being finished on time and on budget I would say that our overall experience with Planit was great and I would definitely recommend them to our family and friends.

I recently had my basement developed by Planit Builders - and wanted to share my positive experience with the company and the build. The construction manager assigned to my job (Steve Belanger) was a pleasure to work with, and went over an above my expectations throughout the entire process. Not only was he constantly checking in to verify that the trade work was getting done to his standards, but he was also quick to resolve any and every issue that arouse. In the end, the basement was completed a week ahead of schedule, and I couldn't be happier with my new development. Planit Builders made the entire process extremely easy and hassle free - and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking at getting their basement or garage developed.

Planit Builders has not been paying their trades/ sub- contractors. They ( owner and managers ) don't follow their own terms of their contract that they set out and constantly make excuses and avoid calls , texts and emails and don't respond and only partially pay or dont pay at all. This has been happening to every trade in Calgary and Edmonton who had worked for them. If anyone pushes for payment they ignore and hire someone else but do the same thing to them. Painters , flooring , plumbing ,etc etc etc the list goes on. Trades do talk! Without the trades doing the work they don't have a company. Home owners can protect themselves by having the company sign off saying they have paid their trades otherwise you as a homeowner run the risk of having liens put on your homes. I know a sub contractor that is owed over $20,000. So where is the money going ? I encourage the trades to reach out and voice your concerns. It's unfortunate, as this company could be a good one however it Is being mismanaged. Home owners are paying for the work yet work is delayed or not done due to trades not being paid. Bet Mike's ( owner ) house and toys are being paid for !!! Steve blows out the biggest hot air and will lie right to your face. They will lie to the homeowner as well . I know of some trades that haven't been paid since 2016. It's unfortunate and the trades all have bills and families and they are being run into the ground by Planit builders.
Are you a home owner that hired Planit builders and have unfinished work ( ie no carpet or unfinished painting etc ) it's cause they aren't paying yet you are paying them. Put the pressure on and don't give them final payments. Protect yourselves homeowners and trades!!!!!

We work with Planit Builders and we do lots of basement development and garages for 100's of homes. Planit Builders is great to work with, no complaints at all. I highly recommend Planit Builders for your home projects.

This company is fraud and all reviews form the sub-contractors & trades true and there are many more those are not speaking out about their money and experience. This company don't pay their subs as they didn't pay us. Mike Huber and Steve are not honest and professional at all and still owes money for the work we did for them. I heard company is going to close their door soon because they owe large amount of money to subs but Planit already got paid from the owners. Please don't hire this company for any type of projects and don't work for these guys as a sub-contractor. I would encourage others those didn't get paid, please speak out, write reviews that will save others from this company's fraudulent activities. To owner who's projects are not completed yet "please keep at least 10% down and release it once this company sign the Statuary declreation about confirming that they have paid all the sub trades. Otherwise Subs are title to file builder's Lien on your property.

Tried to have them build a large garage. Signed on the dotted line in March, in April they tell me it can't be built where I wanted it. I stop the project to discuss making it smaller. Reduce the squar footage by almost 100 feet and the price stays almost the same. Tell them I'm getting other quotes, price magically comes down. Decide to go with someone else and now they won't refund my money and close my finance account. Been sending frustrated emails and phone calls for two weeks. No results.

2 months of my time wasted and now they want to bill me.... not sure for what?

Typical Planit builders means no response after full payments have been made, crappy work, projects that are not completed on time or even close to schedule, and no really care for any type of customer satisfaction. I would not ever recommend planit builders to my worst of enemies. Unprofessional contractors who leave messes and get into fights while at site despite children ears being nearby. Planit builders get your act together, take ownership for the work you've taken on and follow through with your commitments. This organization is terribly managed and desperately needs to be corrected.

Made our garage with plan it builders just before winter came. The garage is great! I couldn't be happier on how it turned out. They gave us weekly reports on the progress of the project.

We hired Planit Builders to build our double detached garage and couldn't be happier with the results. Frank and Steve were fantastic and answered all of our questions quickly and thoroughly, the job was completed on schedule and all of the trades on site were friendly and professional and did a fantastic job. We love our garage and would hire them again in a heart beat.

Just like any other project, there are glitches and delays that happen but Frank, the Coordinator, and Steve, the Construction Manager, handled it at par. They evolved from Constructing Basement and Garages to renovating your stairs. Our stairs is now the focal point of our house and they did an amazing job. I am waiting for the accomplishment of the outstanding items so that I get to fully appreciate the stairs.
Frank will go beyond his job description. He answers his phone all the time, which I appreciated since I hate leaving voicemail messages because I want answers to my questions instantly.
Words of Warning: The cleaners did a very lousy job. The windows were dirty, the floor had smudges. The duct cleaning was not as expected. Their flooring vendor caused a 2 week delay. As of rating time I am happy with our basement and garage. I give it a three and will either rate a 5 or 1 depending on the accomplishment of the outstanding items.
