All of our leather accessories (like our Shoulder Satchel in Caramel pictured here on Jessica Nguyen) are skillfully crafted by our artisans in Léon, Mexico. Like with our footwear, our accessories are produced and manufactured under our strict guidelines to ensure that our makers are paid fairly, have employment benefits, and that their workplaces are safe and supportive. The crossbody strap buckle of my favourite hobo bag broke and PB had me send it to them (postage paid by PB). It was quickly replaced by them and shipped back to me!! Very happy with the communication received and the amazing service!! I Highly recommend PB. Very happy customer who will be back

Love the shoes! They’re my new favourite pair. It’s like walking on clouds! I just ordered a pair of tall boots and I can’t wait for them to come. Love what the company stands for and how open they are with their processes. Great Canadian brand run by two awesome young women!

User

I want to say they have excellent customer service. I own 2 pairs of boots, one is 4 years old now and the other around 3 years old. One pair just had an issue on the inside with the blue goat leather separating. emailed my problem with pictures and they emailed me back a shipping label to ship back to them. The boots were than fixed at thier cost and shipped back to me. The other pair, 4 year old ones kept losing the zipper pull and i kept putting off having it fixed. I live in rural Alberta. No shoe repair here. They sent me another shipping label, had the pulls fixed and sent back to me. I am thrilled. Thank you so much. I am saving up for a pair of short boots now.

User

I ordered a pair of zipper booties and received them in January. At the pop up in may, I showed your staff how the heel needed a new rubber sole already and it was fraying a bit. She said to take it to the cobbler and send in my receipt. So I did. It came back from my cobbler today. They look great. I emailed your concierge my receipt and within 10 minutes received my reimbursement. Thank you for caring about your product.

User

I have the essentials purse in slate and I love it!! The only issue I have is that the compartments are a little smaller so my wallet wasn't able to fit in it. But it gave me an excuse to buy a new wallet that matched my purse better :)

User

I have the Navy Nubuck boot with a 2.5 heel and it is probably the most comfortable shoe I own, and I include my sneakers in that. Like walking on air! (Plus, it looks fabulous).

User

I have bought custom boots and a few pairs of flats, the product quality is exceptional and the customer service I experienced from fitting to quality issues were all handled with such professionalism and my custom product fit great. Love love love, can't wait to get a bag!

User

I hate buying shoes. They never fit right or they hurt when I walk, and I have donated tons of barely worn shoes to charity because they just didn't work. I was dubious about buying expensive shoes online, but figured I could always send them back. I ordered a pair of eleanor oxfords and waited patiently for them to arrive. When I put them on the first time, they were the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn, and continue to be absolutely amazing... so I got a pair of chelsea boots too, which arrived today and fit like a dream. :)

User

I am thrilled with the customer service provided to me by Joanna and the Poppy Barely team. They turned around what could be a negative experience (7 month old shoes showing damage not relative to their age or wear) into something I will rave about to family and friends. Thank you for the attention to detail and standing behind your product.

User

I am probably the most difficult customer this fine company has ever dealt with. My wife has had two mastectomy’s and am fiercely protective of her and the gifts she gets on her road to recovery. She has had some issues with her shoes, uptown boots and Michelle and her staff at Southgate went above and beyond to make her recovery a real treat. Cancer changes people and facing mortality makes your every wish for the sick your only focus. So with this in mind thank you for looking after Julie and her wish. Julie is more than proud to wear your product. #cancersurvivor

User

Excellent customer service. I bought a pair of tall boots a few years ago and the zipper pull recently came off one of the boots. I emailed the company and they mailed me a new set of zipper pulls at no cost. Delivery was very fast. I love these boots!

User

Bought the two point five ankle boots back in October and they are by far the most comfortable pair of heeled boots I have owned. I had an issue with one of the heel caps a couple months into wearing the boots and when I emailed about the issue I had a quick response with the option of either being reimbursed for the cost associated with fixing the heel cap or the option of dropping it off to the store for them to take care of the repairs. I chose to drop it off at the store to have repaired. Although this could have been a negative experience, I found that the way in which this was handled by the staff and company actually made me more confident to continue to shop with them--and I love my boots!

Back in March I found out I had stage 1 ovarian cancer, and in celebration that it wasn’t further advanced, my husband bought me the essentials bag from the flagship store in South Edmonton Common. This was for two reasons, firstly, the lining is teal and that is the colour of the ovarian cancer ribbon and secondly, having cancer has made me focus on the essentials in life. Today is Ovarian Cancer Canada’s awareness day. Turns out 50% of women diagnosed with ovarian cancer do not survive past 5 years and the rates have not improved in 50 years- it’s the most deadly women’s cancer in Canada!!! Funding for research is really, really, really low for the mortality associated with this cancer. I’d love for Poppy Barley to show support for this amazing cause! (There’s a Walk of Hope in Edmonton on Sept 9th, 2018 at 9 am at Kinsmen Park!) Ladies, I love my PB stuff from the shoes to the bags, not a day goes by that I am not wearing my shoes, ankle boots, tall boots, or using a bag! Oh and my keys have a PB clip! #ladyballs #tealribbon #notallcancerispink #ovariancancer #poppybarley

User

The boots that arrived said they were "wide" but they seemed the same width as regular shoes which are much too narrow for me. The sales person said there is an algorithm for the length and width that needs to be followed when they create the boots. I was really hoping for custom style shoes & boots that could manage my width. Disappointed!!! (However, customer service was very good).

User

Disappointing experience from beginning to end. Customer service for my measurements as well as pick up was lacking. The boots were tough to put on but was told they would stretch out. If I had any problems, just to let them know. After wearing them twice & experiencing pain, I emailed them my concerns. Was told too bad so sad since I had worn them outside. I was never told about their exchange policy in either times I was in their store nor was it printed on the invoice. Apparently we are supposed to just know it's on their website. What was supposed to be a wonderful Christmas gift from my husband turned into a waste of money. The boots aren't even well made. We can see glue on the front of both boots and the back of the left boot doesn't meet up properly with the heel. There's a gap. Honestly, take your money and go elsewhere.

User

This was my first and last Poppy and Barley purchase. I ordered a pair of black suede flats and they were not worth the price tag. I've worn them twice (inside) and they scuff like crazy and look like I've owned them for years.

User

So far, the experience is not so great.

Poppy Barley has some very nice products that my wife loves. I just bought her an item at a pop-up store in Vancouver - I find it quite ridiculous that having bought a very expensive item for over $400 (after taxes) and a week later it goes on sale, they tell me it's not their policy to just refund me the difference (like any retailer would). And on top of that, they expect me to mail the item back to them so they can "call it a return", where I have to wait for a refund and then order the item again at the sale price, and again wait for it to be mailed back to me... it makes no sense in this modern day and age of electronic money transferring. I'm completely disappointed with the zero options they presented. I think they really need to re-evaluate their company policy.

User

I had a really bad experience with Poppy Barley. My custom military boots don't fit and there is no recourse because I have worn them! (Of course I had to wear them to know they don't fit.) Poppy Barley won't remake or refund. Their promise of "the most comfortable boots you'll own" is simply not true. Also "you'll forget you are wearing them?" Nope. The stabbing pain in my foot will be sure to remind me of the bad experience. Not a good deal. I'll never shop there again.

User

I also had a bad experience with PB - I got some custom tall boots made - I need a wide calf - usually boots in the category fit me - but just barely. I was so excited to order the boots - I am in Calgary and waited until PB had a pop-up store so I could get measured by them - to make sure they would fit. well - they didn't - they are way too big and instead of looking nice and professional / tall - they slump pretty badly. I was in Edmonton a little while after I bought them - I wore them into the store which consisted of me walking less than 5 steps on a dry sidewalk into the store (and from my house to a car in a garage) - because I wore them in, no refund - nothing - zip. They did give me a shoe-cleaning kit.... hmmm not much consultation for a $500 pair of boots that look terrible. I recently got some Naturalizers for $149 that fit infinitely better - they are not as nice mind you, but they look way better. I was so disappointed. When I was waiting for my boots I also got a pair of shoes - the D'Orsay in Black and Grey - disaster - they completely broke down - heel failed. Of course though I wore them outside (they failed after about 2 weeks of owning them when I was walking on a clean, dry sidewalk in Bangkok on holiday) so I am not even going to bother - I know the policy - that is the last pair of shoes I get from this company. I have about 15 pairs of Fluevogs - so I am not afraid to spend money on shoes - they have amazing customer service - free or very inexpensive repairs even if it is your doing. When in Bangkok I bought a pair of handmade shoes for ~$100 very similar to the D'Orsay and have been wearing them with no issue - so I don't think it was me.... You cannot imagine how sad I am to not be able to support this Alberta company run by sisters..... you really need to rethink your policies when your products are so expensive - stand behind them.
