So grateful to my darling hubby who bought me a Groupon for Prema. I had a 60 minute massage and facial 3 weeks ago, and recently treated my best friend to a facial (who by the way, LOVED IT).

My massage therapist's name escapes me right now, but she was very sweet. The pressure she applied was perfect.

The facial was only the second I've had in my life, as I always dismissed the service as pricey and unnecessary, and more importantly I would never go out in public without foundation on my face, as I have very problematic skin (wrinkles, pimples, scars, and uneven skin tone). Boy was I wrong about it being unnecessary. My technician's name was Nadine. She was not overly friendly, but more importantly, she was professional and seemed to know what she was doing. She applied two masks - grateful to hear they were all natural products that would not interfere with the current products that my dermatologist has me on. She did a few extractions (which I had no idea at the time could cause scarring if not done properly). At the end of the session, I asked if I could reapply my normal foundation, and she said it would be better for her to apply a mineral powder. I agreed even though I was terrified to leave the office without full makeup. However, when I looked in the mirror - I was glowing! For the next 2-3 days, my skin felt divine! The products they used were excellent! I have never had good skin, and I can't tell you how grateful I was. Will I go back? Absolutely!

The only reason I am not giving Prema 5 stars, is because I felt like I was being sold to at every turn. The lady at reception asked if I wanted to add 30 minutes to my facial for just $20 (which is definitely a reasonable deal). I declined as I had another appointment to get to. My massage therapist asked me the same question and then the skin technician asked me the same thing again. The salon experience needs to be as relaxed as possible, without the client having to think about money. I recommend that any up-selling questions should be asked at the beginning by the receptionist, and not again. Simple communication between staff members would alleviate this issue.

Another downside is that you have to pay for parking as it is downtown. However, the suite is clean and lovely, with ample space.

Overall, a very good experience. Thank you Prema. I shall see you again soon.

I signed up for a membership at Prema a few months ago and have been seeing Stephanie for Acupuncture and have been blown away with the results. Not only does she walk you through everything she is doing, but she is extremely patient with answering all my questions. Aside from that, I haven't had a great experience with Prema. Its been very difficult to book appointments online using my memberships, there has also been poor communication over the phone with times getting mixed up and appointments going missing. Yesterday I went for my first sauna and left feeling very disappointment. I wasn't given any information on the benefits, I was just rushed into the room and was told "you've probably used a sauna before" The sauna itself was fine, but then when I got out I was shocked there was no option to shower or wash my face before going into my next appointment. I felt uncomfortable getting back into my clothes after sitting in a hot sauna for 30 minutes. I was given the option to use a robe, but there was no one there when I exited, so I changed into my clothes to go back into the main waiting area to ask if there was somewhere I could at least wash my hands and splash some water on my face. No one asked how my experience was or if I had any questions and the two girls working at the front desk were very unfriendly. My acupuncture session I went into after was great, the only downfall would be laying for an hour in my sweaty clothes. I really want to love Prema, as I think it has the potential to be great, but the staff is not inviting at all. I regret signing up for a membership based off of that alone.

It was my first time going for acupuncture and I was a little bit nervous as I didn't know what to expect. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcome and safe. Stephanie Yip is incredible and her knowledge around TCM is exactly what I needed when seeing her. Thank you Prema and thank you Stephanie. I highly recommend Prema and will return :)

I did not have the same experience as some of the other recent reviewers. I came into the spa, first time, and was warmly greeted and welcomed. I checked in, and then was given a tour of the space and was offered tea and water. I couldn't believe how beautiful the space was, it was beautifully renovated after American apparel. I sat in the quiet room to unwind while I waited for my appointment. I did my visit with Tanya who was fabulous. She was very open to what we were going to be doing, and she made my feel very comfortable. I did an hour long appointment and I would probably not recommend anything shorter, as 1 hour seemed to be perfect. When I was done, I had another glass of water and sat in their waiting area a bit just to get centred before I left. I didn't notice any high pressure sales tactics what so ever, they did offer me a 2 booking discount package, I did not accept, but that isn't uncommon so I wasn't offended by it and I didn't find it high pressure. I said no and they moved on. I do not have coverage so I cannot say if they offer direct billing or not.
I had a great experience and left feeling great. Pricing was competitive and I will be returning!

My therapist was awesome, but customers service was the worst! First of all they overcharge you, prices at their website and at the salon are different. They DO NOT do direct billing (however website says they do), they DO NOT give you refund for unused prepaid sessions. Aggressive sales policy and zero customers appreciation. Don't waste your time!

If I could leave less than 1 star, I would. This place was once great, they really did have the best massage therapists in the city. I was a client for 6 years. It didn't matter who I saw, I was always in good hands. The front end staff were friendly and helpful. I could always count on a great massage , it didn't matter which therapist I saw. New management took over and 90 % of the staff that had been there for years were gone almost overnight. It's close to home so I thought I would try some of their new therapists and they were unhelpful in helping me locate any of the previous massage therapists I had seen. It's disappointing to see the trajectory this business has taken with the new management. High turnover=bad management=poor service on all levels. There is a reason they haven't updated their team page on their website for 8 months, no one stays long enough. Front end staff is unhelpful and use high pressure sales tactics(a la massage heights but double the price) prices have been raised to unreasonable rates(according to the therapists I've seen, this increase does not trickle down to more pay for them) and the massages I've had over the past few months have been some of the worst I've had in my life. These are not the qualified massage therapists that I used to see at this clinic. They are trying to charge premium rates for sub par massages. I am currently trying to find some of the old therapists that worked here and the staff is either incompetent or unwilling to help me in this area(obviously they don't care about the wellness needs of clients or continuity of care and just $$$) . There are many qualified massage therapists and clinics in the city that you could spend your hard earned dollars at-this is not one of them.

Went there for my first time today and had a great experience. The girl at the front desk was so friendly and informative. I got the infared sauna treatment and felt amazing after. I can't wait to try out more things there!

Great therapists however my credit card was charged twice for a service. The person dealing with my account wouldn't refund the second charge and insisted that I must have received 2 different services but wouldn't provide any details. I had to go through my credit card company to dispute the second charge.
