Prlr Lounge (Permanently Closed)

The "local" cocktail bar for Kensington and Calgary's inner city, zero pretension with the same quality as the others. Cosy back room, people watching window booths and a three day new patio; arguably one of the best cocktail bar patios in the city. To showcase they're down to earth quality they've recently installed a wiener menu of gourmet hot dogs and they're pretty stellar, I'm a vegetarian and they even had a zucchini and veggie dog option that was delicious. Heard about the dishwasher thing a previous reviewer mentioned and asked about it in house. They reported it had since been fixed because of the review and was outdated info. Shame they can't take that down. Top 3 in Calgary for me for sure.

Great atmosphere and music! Looks like a very vintage prohibition themed place upon first entry! The cocktails are priced better than every other cocktail place in Calgary, while keeping the amazing quality and passionate bartenders. They recently brought in an entirely new menu, it has tappas that change daily, and 8 desserts that are honestly the best tasting ones I've tried in Calgary so far. I'd recommend you get the Earl Grey Chocolate Torte, and the London Mist cocktail! Or just a great old fashioned ;D

Great cocktails. A small but intentional menu. Great for a cozy chat over drinks for two.

Felt fairly sick after having a few cocktails here one night. Recently checked their health inspection records out of curiosity (can be found publicly via google) and they have multiple violations for their dishwasher reading "0 ppm" for sanitizer, among a few other "critical violations". Yuck! Will be staying away from here, and I urge you to beware if you visit.
