Pro Bodies (Permanently Closed)

I have been with this gym since I moved to Canada last year. The new equipment are great and the receptionists are quite friendly. The members are very respectful and no one bothers you. There is always a parking space at any time of the day. I have never found the washroom untidy.The gym space is huge and there are always free equipment to work with. I am not exactly a 6-packer but I have never felt out of place in this gym for one day. You practically see new stuff in this gym every time you go there, this is a sign of a serious management. Well done guys.
The karate class is fantastic! My kids attend the classes and they love it. The have recently renovated their space as well. Well done probodies. You have my vote!! 100%.

New owners make assumption that all contact information is current and updated with previous owners membership database. Existing members who pay via auto-debit see strange debit from unknown company for $$. Inquiry, and research. No more Pro-bodies. Additionally, new ownership/company charges double the original monthly dues.
Want to keep a member? maintain business?? maybe even grow business..
Contact your membership database, make sure they know about the changes. Make the effort.

Overall it is what you pay for. Low monthly rates for equipment that was at other gyms years ago. Leaky roofs, moldy ceilings. The shower heads are low, despite having 14ish foot ceilings, so I had to bend over to rinse. I'm 6 foot.

When I called in to let them know I couldn't come in for several months due to a broken ankle, I was told I had to come in and talk to a manager. So I showed up and there was no manager available.

Then I called in 1 month prior to the 1 year term expiring, to give my 1 month notice of intent to cancel. I was able to give enough identifying information to them I could have spoken to CRA. Well apparently you have to come in to do that too because they can't trust it's me and apparently that's in the contract, I suggested they mail me the paperwork required to my address they have on file, they won't do that either. So i put a stop payment on my card.

3 months after the 1 year term had expired they called me and told me I had to come in to pay and cancel and they wanted a new card, despite Pro bodies knowing I wanted to cancel. I recorded a conversation where they then told me they could now mail me the cancellation slip as long as I agreed to pay them the outstanding amount.

The recent change in ownership has been absolutely amazing! In the last 3 months so much as changed and it only seems to be getting better. Its starting to turn into a seriously awesome gym.
