About Pro Bono Law Alberta

Pro Bono Law Alberta is a leader and valued partner in fostering pro bono contributions by the legal community to facilitate access to justice for Albertans. PBLA was founded in 2007 as a legacy project of the Law Society of Alberta in recognition of its 100th anniversary celebrations. The organization was created with the aims of supporting, maximizing and coordinating the delivery of pro bono legal services in Alberta. Since 2007, PBLA has grown to administer court-based programs in Calgary and Edmonton, to broker partnerships between law firms and organization in Alberta to provide legal services to those in need, and to support the work of the legal clinic providing pro bono services around Alberta. PBLA does not provide direct legal services, including advice, representations or referrals to pro bono lawyers.
