Pygmalion will be taking part in culture days in September and will be looking for students who would like to volunteer to help with the "Drop in Art" on Sept. 29 and to help man the "Measuring St. Albert" project during the Culture Days. Both projects will end up being displayed in St. Albert Place on Sept. 30.
Culture Days, Sept. 28 - 30 SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2018 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM ... Drop-in Art Pygmalion School of Fine Art, 86 McKenney Avenue Individuals develop their artistic “eye” by matching shapes and colors of a small section of a picture and replicate it with a medium of their choice. A picture for each project will be divided into multiple sections. Each person will take one section, copy it using acrylic paint, coloured pencil, watercolour, soft pastel or oil pastel. The artwork will be displayed in the correct position to create a larger version of the original picture. Participants will have a chance to drop into the studio at Pygmalion between 10 am and 2 pm to work on the project. Finished pieces will be on display at Pygmalion on the Saturday; at St. Albert Place on the Sunday. Pygmalion’s students will help with the process, teaching participants how to work with the different mediums.

... MEASURING ST. ALBERT Various locations
In partnership with Pygmalion School of Fine Art. This project combines a physical height measurement of St. Albertans evolving into an installation piece. Individuals will have their height marked on blank white boards with a line measurement, name and date using a black sharpie. This project will circulate prior to Culture Days weekend (Canada Day celebrations, St. Albert Farmer’s Market, etc.) and will also travel through the various events and activities happening over Culture Days. The installation will then be mounted for display and viewing on the Sunday, September 30 at St. Albert Place.
