Racks For Cars

Bought a bike rack, based on their recommendation for my vehicle. It did not safely fit, however when I went to return it, they said they couldn't take it because it was used. I suggested that I would be ok exchanging (which was a more expensive rack) for a roof mounted rack, but they said that because it was used they couldn't take it back.

I asked how I was supposed to figure out it wouldn't fit without opening it, and they simply told me "sorry it's used, we can't accept it".

They blamed the manufacturer for recommending the fit to my vehicle and told me to take it up with them.

Terrible customer service, will not return.

Its funny how they get only 4.5 to 5 stars, or 1 stars... makes you wonder.

I wasn't sure initially if this was the rack I needed for my trailer. I have seen a few in my travels and decided an A frame rack was the best way to go. Called the store and asked a few questions, which assured me of my decision.
Placed the order on the phone and had it shipped to me free of charge. I bought the configuration for the 4 bike rack, as you need to buy the pillars, rack and support arms separately.

It took longer than expected to assemble as there is quite a bit of test fitting to get it aligned properly. In addition, the paper instructions are not the best and you will need to consult the website for Arvika and Racks for Cars to get the whole picture of what you are trying to assemble. That would be my only complaint, other than the long carriage bolts that came with the pillars were too short for my A frame. I had to buy 4 - 8" bolts to replace the 7" bolts that came with it so that I would have adequate threads exposed.

I have traveled with 4 bikes on the rack for about 6 hours this past weekend and had no issues whatsoever. All components were tight and it does not interfere with the truck box at all.

This is a quality bike rack and is far superior than a rear bumper mount rack in an RV trailer application. The cost was just under 1K, which seems steep, but I believe it will pay dividends well into the future!

Purchased the horizontal bike bag a week before we left on our trip. It arrived in time without issue thanks to great customer service out of the Edmonton office .
The bag was easy to use. We have driven across the country and back. The denier is a great weight and has stood up well to the wind and the rain. Very happy with the purchase

Shipped rapidly! :-) A bit challenging to put together but I'm looking forward to using it. Would have preferred if shipper could have called the day before or even the morning of so I could insure someone was home. I usually have things shipped to my place of work, but I figured (rightly so) that this was too large for that!

DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE! I bought a toolbox online and got shipped to this store. Got home the toolbox doesn't fit my truck but since I ordered it online it's now completely non refundable. They don't want to have to keep it in stock to try to re sell as if that's my problem. Zero customer service once they have your money. Now I'm stuck with a $600 toolbox that doesn't fit my truck.

Not Recommended. I bought a Thule Sonic XL, brand new in the box, which they loaded in the back of my truck. When I got home to install the Thule Sonic, I found that the box had nothing more than lots and lots of empty boxes! I called them straight away and emailed them pictures. They wanted ME to bring back the box full of THEIR recycling back to the store for THEIR mistake. From Dustin, there was not so much as an apology, or a discount on a real Thule Sonic, or an offer to deliver a real Thule Sonic.

Wonderful, helpful service from the day I walked in looking for a rack as a gift (knowing basically nothing about racks), to the unfortunate day I needed to find out about warranty on that rack. Sadly our Thule went through an incident and wasn't in good shape. They talked to Thule on my behalf and got me an entirely new rack within a matter of days. I highly recommend this location, they care about their customers!
