Rafter H Ranch Quarter Horses

One of the top students from the class of 2017 tutoring a couple of the young guns of 2018 today helping them through the weaning process. Patience training is only as hard as you make it. Lol

We have started tying, with an Aussie tie ring, the foals in their stalls and separating them from their moms a few hours a day to prepare them for weaning ! By the time they go to their new homes they will have had their feet done 2-3 times! They are all halter broke, come when you whistle and love to be rubbed everywhere ! We want to make sure that they have the best start possible and are well mannered to begin a life at their new loving homes. We will miss them dearl...y as they all hold a special place in our hearts ♥️ Here is Caliente having her feet rasped and standing like a pro.

"Vaquero" is out of our mare Babe, a daughter of our stallion Gambler and a Blue Valentine bred mare. Babe has shown us the same gentle disposition her sire has. Vaquero's daddy, Fix N To is by the legendary Dash Ta Fame and out of Volley Six, a Streakin Six daughter. He was a 1D barrel horse himself before making the trip North of the border to stand at Sandy Ridge Stallion Station here in Alberta.... This colt has lots of bone and size and should mature to 15.3 or bigger. We would like to keep this fellow but will price him to the right buyer. A performance home is a must. PM for price. Double Diamond Hayes aka "Prize" is a 2017 red roan filly. She is a real sweetheart with a quiet eye and willing temperament. Straight and correct. Out of our mare Sabrina Valentine and by our stallion Reno's Black Gambler. Prize is great to handle, good with her feet and has been clipped and trailered. Double Diamond Tureno

I love getting updates from those who have purchased horses from us. Double Diamond Tureno is doing awesome with her new family in Ohio First time around a tarp and it didn’t phase her. It’s evident that Reno’s black gambler throws his great temper, disposition and pleasingness into his babies.

It’s heart ♥️ warming to see that Tureno has settled in the first day with her new family in Ohio . It amazes me how these babies from our stud (Reno’s Black Gambler) are so laid back with a kind disposition. Tureno hasn’t been around alot of little people and isn’t even phased by them. Says alot about her lineage

Taking some time at the end of a busy day to enjoy the foals. They all have a quiet disposition and temperament Love to be around people.

We are excited to announce that both Jet and Babe checked in foal to A Streak of Fame!
A Streak of Fame is a direct son of A Streak of Fling and out of Short Penny, a daughter of Dash Ta Fame... a known magic cross in the barrel racing industry.
Streaker himself is a 1D barrel racing money earner and WPRA money earner with pilots Todd and Mary Burger. The A Streak of Fling/ Short Penny pairing also produced the talented athlete Fame Fling and Bling (WPRA-CPRA- NBHA money ear...ner, NFR qualifier with Sarah Rose McDonald, and had LTE's of $760,000+). She was best known as "Bling" and was something exciting to watch in the rodeo arena.
Hayes Blue Sandy aka "Jet" is by Bill and Heidi Robinson's Hayes Blue Valentine (x Leo Hancock Hayes, out of a Gooseberry bred mare). Jet's dam goes back to Easy Jet and Blue Valentine herself.
Gamblers Blue Babe aka "Babe" is sired by our stallion, Renos Black Gambler, and out of a Blue Valentine bred mare. She did an outstanding job growing her 2018 Fix N To (x DTF) colt, Vaquero.
Knowing the talent Streaker himself holds and the success the ASOF/DTF cross has had, we are excited to see the results on our sizey, well minded and coloured Hancock/Blue Valentine mares! These babies should be nothing short of impressive!
