Rancho Relaxo Resort Description
Rancho Relaxo Resort is one of Alberta's first eco-tourism destination resorts and will feature renewable energy systems, organic food production, water harvest, food storage, off-grid log cabins, and a plethora of other ideas that help families move towards self-sufficiency, food security, and healthy communities.
This beautiful five-acre permaculture demonstration farm has the potential to host events, workshops, and courses, while offering affordable, comfortable, all-inclusive accommodations. The resort creates a friendly, comfortable atmosphere that enhances social interaction, connections with the natural world, and confidence in themselves as an informed consumer.
Jeff & Juli's knowledge of the Alberta geography, events, inhabitants, and recreational opportunities will be invaluable to travellers that would prefer to have a home base, a host family, and a personal guide to help them make the most of their time in this beautiful land. Our guided off-site ventures will allow domestic and international explorers to experience all the diverse culture and activities Alberta has to offer, including First Nations ceremonies, access to the Parks, world-class museums and more.
Our working permaculture farm offers many opportunities for 'hands-on' learning, ranging from egg-collection to soil building. We encourage guests to get involved, share ideas, and get excited about new skills, all while enjoying the beautiful mountain views, forest trails, and organic gardens.
Delicious, wholesome meals will be supplied using only the highest quality ingredients available, will be cooked from scratch, and prepared fresh every day. Healthy food is the key to healthy people.
To round out the day, who could resist a star-filled sky with guitars around the campfire? The perfect way to unplug!

Over the past few years we started celebrating a winter event that was around long before Jesus and shopping.
The Winter Solstice, December 21st, is the shortest day of the year, so in many parts of the world this is celebrated as a turning point in the year. A holiday that celebrates the return of daylight and warmth, and things getting brighter every day. On such a short day (7hrs... and 42 min) it seems only fitting to spend a majority of it outside!
This day marks the beginning of the days getting longer as we head into a new year and look forward to new life. Let's enjoy the outdoors in the winter as much as we do in the summer! So come and join us for some FREE outdoor fun!!
A great time to catch up with friends you haven't seen in awhile before the New Year arrives!
Activities may include, sledding on the hill, solar cooking, snow angels, trail walking and general hanging out with friends/family and enjoying the shortest day/longest night.
Come for the day, come for an hour, whatever time you have come and share some holiday cheer!
We'll have the fire going and plan on cooking our meals that way for the day. Dinner over the fire will be what the Aussies call “Jaffles” so please bring whatever you might put in a pie iron sandwich cooker. We’ll supply the bread and a few other items to fill your sammies!
Keep in mind we will be outside most of the day (weather permitting) so come prepared for that, boots, mitts, snow pants, toques etc. That means YOU TOO not just your kids! :-)
We also have the music gear ready for you to strut your stuff on our little stage, open mic style! Rock, country, jazz, blues, freestyle or maybe you want to spin some records and pump out some rad beats?! Then you're in the right place!
There is room to stay onsite for out of towners but it's first come first served so don't delay contact me today! :-)
There's no limit to what this day can bring so tell your friends near and far because you just never know what might happen at Rancho Relaxo Resort!
I hope to see many of you out for a cup of Holiday cheer as we really do enjoy all of our friends and family when we see them. This may be the only time during this busy season to get together so come by and make this your pre-holiday, outdoor venture.
