Pretty good selection, and the friendly guy running the shop is knowledgeable. Give him a chance and he can make some reasonable suggestions based on his memory of your purchases. He's like a Google search history.

I would give this store less than one star if possible. We have lived in Douglasdale for over 15 years and have never been so poorly treated as a customer anywhere else. My husband dropped in one night and bought a six-pack of beer and a "rose" bottle of wine for me. Later on that night, before opening the wine I thought the color looked a bit odd. We thought, what the heck, lets open it and check it out. UGH!!! Totally off...we took it back the next day for an exchange, didn't even ask for a refund, and we were refused. The woman (owner?) at the cash was beyond rude. I agree with previous poster, absolutely take the extra couple of minutes and go across to Crowfoot Liquor, they are always super helpful and nice. Awesome customer service compared to this sad excuse of a store. Don't go here and waste your money.....

Suspected of stealing, and told to leave the store whilst browsing

the first time I walked into the store almost a year ago, I was ignored by the staff who was busy yakking on the phone. The store recently changed hands (is no longer spirits of douglasdale) and is under new management. As everything had changed inside the store - I was going to ask for help finding something, after being ignored for about 5 minutes I left the store, only to be followed out of the store being suspected of crime. How great. I Thought I'd give them another chance, yesterday I purchased a 10$ bottle of ephemere apple beer, and a 24 pk of AGD. (prices are much higher than the standard 300% markup, i'd say 500-600%) Here's where it gets good. I drink said single bottle of beer over the course of 4 hours (its a sipping beer and rather nice over a long period of time). This, however, is not enough to even bring my 260lb muscled frame +military stomach even close to inebriation. My stomach starts to feel like there's a heavy weight pressing on it from all sides. My guts begin to feel queasy and out of sorts. I spike a fever. while shivering and sweating I realize I am exhibiting the symptoms of mild food poisoning. Anyway, without going into more details, I had a very unpleasant experience last night. Two factors could be the cause. 1) no product rotation or removal of expired products by the staff 2) manufacturers defect. I think the second is unlikely as you would be out of business rather quickly in Canada. Give this store a miss. Your guts will appreciate it. Highly recommend Crowfoot Liquor just up the road in Douglas Glen. Their attentive staff will amaze you by comparison.

Staff is incredibly rude and the prices are the most expensive in the area.
