I was afflicted with a flat tire on my commute home from the University today, and had no tube or tools with me. I pushed my bike to the nearest bike shop, Red Bike. They were super busy with after-work shoppers, but I was helped within 10 seconds of entering the store, and directed to the Service Area. The mechanic had a quick look and found the appropriate replacement tube, then gave me the option of having him do it for a the price of the tube and $15 service fee (this is the same as my regular shop's price), or, he said, I could just buy the tube, and borrow a tire lever to do the work myself outside the store. I opted to do the work myself, then came back in and a different mechanic pumped the tire up with air, and checked the pressure in both tires checked. The whole interaction took about 15 minutes, cost me 7 bucks for the tube, and saved me an 8-km walk home. I'm giving Red Bike a 5 out of 5 for service based on this interaction, and another 5 out of 5 for having such a great location.

I went in looking for information on bikes as my old bike is in need of replacement. I am an experienced commuter and somewhat knowledgeable about what i want. The staff who helped me was extremely off putting. he wouldn't listen to what I had to say, and kept telling me how I shouldn't want what I was looking for and that road riding isn't as good as cyclocross. the whole time we were talking the exact bike I was looking for was in front of us. I tried to redirect the conversation to the bike I wanted to see. Instead he kept telling me I should buy cyclocross. I might have bought the bike, but the staff was so rude I just left instead. I won't be back.

I am a lifetime cyclist and consider myself knowledgeable with the larger Edmonton shops. I have rarely visited Redbike (because my cycling needs were being met elsewhere) but I believe Redbike probably prides itself on being a boutique shop where discerning cyclists shop. I think Redbike carries high quality products in a well laid out environment. However, the service requires a lot of work. I went in to pump up my tires and a staff member showed me to the pump and basically implied I could help myself. That was good but I had trouble fitting the pump to the valve as I was unfamiliar with the pump. I asked if there was anything I needed to do with the pump to properly fit it but it was clear he was unwilling to assist. He showed a level of indifference which was surprising. I'm not sure why I had this poor experience, I suppose it could be anything from the fact that I wasn't buying anything to my jersey was affiliated with another shop to him having a bad day. In any case, it's unfortunate that an otherwise good bike shop is ruined by a staff member who is unprofessional, has no business savvy and lacks customer service.

Great store. The staff member I talked to (Jay) was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Their prices are reasonable and they also have a nice clearance section of bike shoes.

Very knowledgeable and helpful staff, nice range of products for various price points.

The most helpful and great bike shop for myself in Alberta. They dont want just to sell you bike, they want you to be happy with your purchase. They have a lot of different brands and great quality bikes.I was looking for touring bike, please ask them for bike fit, yes it costs some money but you will save later on and you will have a perfect bike fit. If you are in Edmonton or around no need to look further. Thank you Cliff and rest of the team. Will always return !

A big thanks go out to Cliff and staff. I stopped in to test ride a Surly Disk Trucker. I had done extensive research on the internet, and read blog after blog, but after 20+ years of not really riding, I was...well...for lack of a better word, a NOOB. Much to their credit, they listened to every stupid question I asked, and then proceeded to educate me without a hint of sarcasm, or even a smirk. I'm sure it was hard ;) In the end, after several test rides, and endless adjustments, I am now the proud owner of a Disk Trucker. I would highly recommend them if you are in the market for a bike.

Redbike has a well curated selection of high end bikes and accessories. The staff are truly passionate about cycling and very knowledgeable. Real experts, one of my favourite shops of all time.
