ABOUT AMY MOEDT (OWNER /PHOTOGRAPHER)
A few things to know about me: I could not live without my daily dose of delicious fresh ground coffee, or my fuzzy white robe. My favourite part of a wedding day is either the first look between the bride and groom, or those moments during the reception when I am able to steal my couple away and take some creative night shots! I laugh at myself a lot - and it will generally get my couple laughing as well. I love to direct my couples during formals so that they feel as comfortable and beautiful on their wedding day as possible - because let's be honest - nobody knows what to do with their hands.
My bio: Let's fast-forward through my boring (but necessary) qualifications. Straight out of high school I attended the University of Lethbridge where I completed my B. F. A with a focus in photography. During that time, I took in as much as I could while second shooting weddings in the summer, and photographing sports year round (the main reason why I'm so quick on the draw - literally - I have a camera belt that looks like a holster). Immediately after graduating I worked as a graphic designer while also starting RedTree Photography.
Couples are my specialty, and business is my passion.
I am an Edmonton photographer, who photographs weddings all over the world. My husband, Ryan moonlights as my second shooter - especially when world travel is involved. With a single look across the room, he knows exactly which lens to bring me or what camera to switch out - it's a gift.
We photograph upward of four destination weddings per year. The most popular time for destination travel tends to be in November and April (fun fact). Some of our favourite wedding locations have been Mexico, Dominican, Jamaica, Niagara Falls, Halifax and Banff National Park! So yes - if you are getting married out of the country I WILL come with you - and likely bring my other half with me.
The past couple of years, I have hired associate photographers based out of Edmonton. We have a consistent training program that keeps them sharp and artistic! What's new: My husband and I just welcomed our first baby girl, Brynn this past January! This will in no way affect those bookings that I have already made for 2018, or keep me from continually booking as normal! 2019 is already booking up quickly!
