Richardson Pioneer Central Peace Aquatic Centre Description
Originally constructed in 1967, the Spirit River Centennial Pool had always been busy offering summer fun and excitement. Newly renovated and re-opened for 2013, the Richardson Pioneer Central Peace Aquatic Centre is one of the best summer destinations in the Central Peace. Our pool has something for everyone including whirlpool, hot tub, beach entry and waterslides. Come and check out our swimming lessons or aquasize programs. There were multiple people excited about the free swim that was scheduled for today, but unfortunately due to the pool being closed this was not an option. As a result, the free swim that was scheduled for today will be moved to August 17, 2018. :) Thank you ATB and RBC for sponsoring the free swim on August 17 and for being understanding in these difficult times!

As many of you may have noticed, our pool has been closed this week. We opted to shut our doors to address an issue with our chlorination system that has persisted since we implemented some changes at the start of the season. This issue has given rise to a variety of concerns regarding the maintenance of water quality and cleanliness in our pool. At this point we felt it was best to close our doors in order to re-establish the original chlorination system before more serious concerns arose. We are working closely with Alberta Health Services to ensure that our facility meets the highest possible standards of cleanliness and safety at all times. Further updates will be posted as they become available.
The pool will be closed until posted otherwise, due to operational difficulties. We apologize for the inconvenience and will keep everyone updated.

MISSING: A pink duffel bag went missing between 5:30 p.m. during public swim and swim club starting at 6 on July 16. It's very important that she gets it back as it has her prescription glasses (red frames with black arm tips). Inside her bag was her clothes - beige shorts and a purple fading to pink tank top both from Old Navy, green swim goggles, silver Nike swim cap and orange Speedo swim cap. There's 3 Beat My Time buttons pinned on the outside.

Well worth the drive from Dawson Creek! When we reached the pool it was at capacity, but it wasn't a long wait until we were allowed in. Our kids had an awesome time and we can't wait to come back.
We loved the pool! The boys really enjoyed the slides.
It would be great to pay with debit or visa in the future and maybe have a little kiosk with snacks and treats for the kids.

My kids (9, 7, 4 and 6 months) LOVED the pool. There was something for everyone and it's not as crazy busy or expensive as the multiplex. So worth the drive from GP!

I had my sons birthday here today. We have been here before but I had never personally rented the pool. I rented the pool from 10-12pm and also rented the Ross Room (smaller axillary room) from 12-1pm. We had a great experience! Staff was very attentive and helpful. The room we rented was a beautiful, clean, and spacious. I highly recommend this pool for a visit or for a rental!

We really enjoyed the pool last year but this year with the no food policy and people being allowed to call in and leave there name on a waiting list while i stand in line in my mind is not right. If you want in the pool that bad you should have to wait around not get a call to come back (it could potentially take someone 30minutes to actually make it back to the pool).
The hot tub is NEVER working! And sometimes the showers are freezing too. The kids get really cold and have no way to warm up. Also, it would be nice if we were allowed to have snacks at the picnic benches or something, and not have to leave the entire building!
The first time I went there this year the hot tub was not working and the water heaters didn't work either. No one said anything about it before I paid to be there for 10 minutes. I checked the site and there were no notices regarding these problems. The next time I went it was on a different schedule than the one posted. This has happened numerous times. Lately we've not even been able to get in because it is always full of out of towners even though we're the ones who paid for it. Over all it has been a huge disappointment.
It isn’t big enough for its customer base. I was turned away because, apparently, it was at full capacity. They change their times often. I’m getting tired of being turned away.
