Food was amazing. Appetizer to desert was very very impressive. The knowledge of the staff was very helpful. Really great service. Loved the cozy atmosphere.

Authentic dining for sure. On Prince’s Island Park which has waking access only, this restaurant is great. Great selection of drinks and wines and the Wild Boar loin is a must. My wife had the beef loin which was tasty but quite chewy. Otherwise 5 stars. Price was a bit high for chewy meat. The Boar was very tender. Eclectic environment!

My partner and I had brunch here. The food was so disappointing. $17 for 8 mussels that were on there last legs was the worst mussels I have eaten. The restaurants interior is really beautiful but that was the only highlight. Service was slow and uninterested. We were not given any speacials or where the oyster were from. The blackboard with the specials weren't written up until we were leaving at 11:30am. Our bill had extra cocktails on it that we didn't order. Would not return for over priced poor service.

I personally find the place too hyped up. Too costly and i got the feeling no one cares.
Ok i am vegetarian so i asked for favor to just get me some fresh veggies butter tossed so that i can enjoy my veggies without embarrassing my clients.
It turns out i got empty plate with just decoration and few pieces of veggies and mushroom
Well at least chef could have afforded some potatoes for $45 budget dish.
It felt like rip off.
And sorry i will rate 3 just because of location and a bit of ambiance.

Went for Sunday brunch on my cousin's suggestion and it was excellent. Great location and a beautiful space. We had PEI mussels in a mushroom and sake reduction with made-in-house sourdough rye bread and it was all excellent. The staff were friendly and attentive, and having complimentary sparkling water available in addition to still was a nice touch that we appreciated.

The ambiance is very calm and relaxing. The service was great and food was wonderful. The chef really out did himself. The food was truly a work of art and tasted amazing. Great healthy options, and a beautiful location. Only issue i had was that the early dinner menu only had 3 options total. Lunch menu wasn't very extensive, but they have a full dinner menu. It was a wonderful dinner.

Delicious local flavours! Amazing cuisine! All the dishes are well thought out and their flavours matched and mixed to make your palate explode with taste! It is one of my favourite spots and a must try on a trip to Calgary if you're from out of town! You pay for what you get! Sure the prices can be high but worth every cent for every dish, drink and dessert you try here!

Fantastic local food in a beautiful park. Seasonal selections are always prepared to perfection. The wine list is unique and carefully crafted. The venue feels exceptionally rustic while also well-cared for. Downsides: The price tag is hefty, and anyone with mobility issues may find it difficult as a short (couple hundred metres) walk is required to get to the restaurant.

5 stars for the atmosphere, 5 stars for the service and definitely 5 stars for the food. I've never had eggs benny served like this before. River Cafe uses a scallion pancake in place of the traditional english muffin, a delightful and savoury spin to an old classic ... and the potatoes, I dont even know how to describe the potatoes. It's like they were soaked in duck fat and fried in heavenly butter.

Leftovers were packed into compostable container, a refreshing sight in the face of world ruled by plastic and styrofoam. I can't wait to go back and see how they do dinner ...
