Congratulations Mikaela Quinn Baird on winning 3rd in the 3D out of 775 riders! Mikey brought home a nice 1500.00 pay out, along with some other amazing prizes. She made the short go and runs again today in Ponoka at ABRA - Alberta Barrel Racing Association finals! Go Mikey go!

This is the girl who never, ever, ever gives up. Mikey Baird is the daughter of owners Dave & Carmel Baird and the reason River Lane Ranch Healing with Horses began. At just 8yrs old Mike suffered a stroke that left her fighting for her life and struggling to regain control of her speech and mobility. Now almost 18yrs old Mike will make her second and final run today at the Alberta Barrel Racing Finals. This is one cowgirl who has more try, grit, determination and dedication than anyone we know!

Rumour was the first to be born this year at RLR and in just a few weeks she'll be weaned and looking for her forever home. ... Her dam is a foundation mare and one of the first mares to be brought to Canada from England. Her sire is the grandson of the only Gypsy Vanner to be entered into the GVHS Hall of Fame. When Rumour was born, we knew she would be a very special girl and is already turning heads. With her flash of colour (EE/Gg/nT)and her pretty little head and perfect conformation, she makes the perfect show filly. But don't worry... if you aren't interested in showing, Rumour is so much more. Handled from the day she was born, she is the first to greet the children at the pasture gate and has that gentle, loving personality that every Gypsy should have. Rumour may only be a few months old, but she is already trained to lead, bath, clip, load and stand to tie. Her daily handling and being surrounded with the love and encouragement of those at RLR has made her the perfect choice for your next soulmate.

Training has to be more then just riding horses, round penning horses and halter breaking horses. At RLR we are using horses for extensive healing and therapy with our clients. The horses have to be comfortable with all our emotions from laughter and joy, to tears of pain or anxiety. This helps them prepare for our clients with Healing with Horses sessions. We have fun with the horses and make every day an adventure for them and our staff. Yesterday WR Olive proved to be ...just as quiet and amazing as we knew she was, and these two girls just as wild and crazy as ever.

Here in Alberta, it’s been one of the hottest summers we’ve had in a long time. This video was taken in late June when Joy was just 1.5 months old and needed to be clipped for the summer to stay cool. She’s already standing to tie and enjoys the experience of being groomed. At RLR the relationship begins the day they are born.

I have too say that Carmel was bang on with mymini reading. And with out knowing it she truly is helping my granddaughter dealing with issues of her own

I had my first healing with horses session about a week ago. It’s something I’ve wanted to try since the moment I heard about it. I believe Olive was the perfect horse for me. Her super sweet and silly personality made her such a joy to be around.



I went to this session to expedite my healing process. I was dealing with chronic neck and back pain, migraines, trouble sleeping, etc. The session itself was super comfortable. Chantel is such a beautiful soul and she’s super easy to talk to. Her strong intuition really helped me dig deep and find out why my body was holding on to all this pain. As we went through the healing process, I was feeling subtle changes. Each exercise peeled back another layer which Olive and I released together. Horses mirror you. It was such an incredible feeling leaving the ranch a changed person.



Today, I’m feeling amazing! No more excruciating pain and no more medication. My life is forever changed! If you’re on the fence, try it! What do you have to lose? To be honest, you have so much to gain �

Great happening area for large venues. Large parking area. Easy to get to location. Awesome view!
