Rocky Mountain Folk Club Description

We are pleased to present the Rocky Mountain Folk Club's 41st season.

Our concerts take place at the Hillhurst-Sunnyside Community Association hall, 1320 5th Ave NW in Calgary. Concerts are at 8pm, with doors opening at 7. 30pm.

Tickets ($20) are available at the door.

Each night begins with a set by either our long time house band Ceard or by Horizon Ridge, another fine local band with a strong connection to the Rocky.

Regular members of Ceard are Jim Atkinson on bass, guitar and vocals, Paula McGarrigle on vocals and fiddle and Hal Curties on vocals and guitar. Ceard plays a mixture of traditional and contemporary songs (and throw in the occasional bad joke).

Horizon Ridge is led by transplanted Englishman and long time folkie Steve Goodchild who has been involved in numerous musical activities since his arrival in Calgary, including an increasing number of volunteer roles at the Rocky.

During the rest of the evening we normally present two sets featuring various combinations of touring performers and /or some more of the great local talent available in the Calgary area.

We hope you will enjoy the performers we have selected.
