It was a great weekend at the Icehouse ! 💫 Friday was a Rompin great time at our East Coast Kitchen Party featuring Derina Harvey Band and DJ Modest Mike- and the scrumptious seafood delights offered from Chef rounded out the experience for all. And let’s not forget all the late night soggy football fans that finished off the night!... Saturday was a great blend of (breezy) patio living and great music from Kris King and hot summer night fun. Sunday morning brought out the die hard Soccer Fans. It wasn’t so much about who was playing in the World Cup Finals but the love of the game. Thank you Edmonton for making us a part of your Summer!

This is a love story. Picture a kinder, gentler time. Two separate souls wandering the Edmonton city scene were brought together by something as simple as proximity. When they finally start talking and sharing their life stories they realize the similarities- and a mutual love of the food and beverage industry was in the forefront. They kept talking and a strong partnership was formed . Her experience and savvy in this harsh industry would create the space and his desire to c...onceptualize and build the vision rounded it out. (INSERT MARRIAGE CEREMONY IN STORY HERE) When all the stars aligned for them they decided to take the leap into the unknown- Opening a pub together (definitely Susan’s)- The Cask & Barrel. The hopes and dreams they had for each other and this city of Edmonton drove them to conceive and build their next endeavour together (this one more Wayne’s)-Rocky Mountain Icehouse.
Who knows what all that love- of each other- of the industry- Edmonton- their family-and their creations- will take them next! Today they celebrate what they cheekily call their 50th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY - which is why (the poster) also took creative license with sharing their history If you see them on Jasper Avenue-or at the Pubs - say ‘hi’ and give them a hug! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY SUSAN & WAYNE!😃

We had just the best server, had incredible food (started with calamari, I had the baby back ribs and my date had the fried chicken with mac and cheese) and everything was great!! I love this place and will come back, thank you for the amazing experience!

User

The food was excellent. Service was very good and the music was outstanding. The only complaint was limited view of the performance and that the vocals seemed to quiet for the background instrumentals.

Krystle Dos Santos was absolutely amazing. Will continue to follow her for other engagements in the province.

Well done Rocky Mountain Icehouse

User

The food and drink menu are nothing short of incredible and inspired. Everyone at our table was blown away by our meals and most of their beer seemed local, which I like. Live music and a dance floor that gets lit on the weekends!

Great food, local drinks, awesome music? I’m in!

User

Service, food and drinks were great , Tuesday night jam session was awesome!

User

Love the turkey legs :) great winter food, friendly staff and nice and clean place . Has live music on at weekends and a nice patio out front ... and great location for a pub crawl as plenty more close by :)

User

In town for the Queen concert last night and stayed just around the corner at the Coast Plaza. Very nice patio. Great service from John. Great local beer on tap and food was very tasty. Burger with home made chips (not fries) and a wonderful BLT salad. Fun watching all the cool cars drive down Jasper Avenue. Came back after the concert to more cold brew and 1/2 price appies. Thanks for the night experience in Edmonton.

User

First time there for a special gathering last Tuesday evening. Great service. Comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. Awesome menu ~ the Crab Cakes were to die for! Reasonable pricing. Super enjoyable live music/loud though but not sure how that can be rectified. Will definitely return! Again and again! ☺️👌🏻

User

Delicious food, great ambiance, cool space. A gem of a place!

User

Awesome service, great menu too! The food was amazing 👍

User

Absolutely loved this place. Great layout, music doesn't drown out the possibility of conversation, and the food was mind blowing. I've never had asparagus that made me say "wow" until last Wednesday. Staff was amazing! Thanks for being the highlight of our short tour of Edmonton!

User

A great venue for an event! We recently eloped and held a celebration with family and friends at the Icehouse when we returned. This was the perfect venue for us because it has a great stage and dance floor, they helped us book a local band we love, the décor and lighting is awesome and all we added were a few balloons, we could order appetizers and have tables and standing room to create the atmosphere we hoped for, and the ability to provide our guests with drink tickets helped to treat them as well as control our budget for the event. Most of all, the management team was enthusiastic and incredibly helpful in helping us plan the party - and we could text them anytime to coordinate details. The servers who worked our party were also excellent, and remained positive and helpful when working a big party where guests would order drinks then wander away - we received many comments on how nice and helpful they were. Thanks for everything!

User

A big thank you to Rocky Mountain Icehouse for hosting the launch party of Perspective Photography! Susan, Wayne and all of the staff were incredible, you helped make the evening the success that it was.

The first time we went we received poor service (we didn't get our lunch before we had to leave). The manager said they were short staffed and invited us back to give them another try. We went back and this time we had great service and had our meals with plenty of time to spare. Hard to beat an outdoor patio in the summer!

User

Place was nice, service ok. My cider chicken sandwich was great but opted for the daily soup which was not mentioned to me that it contained cilantro. Cilantro is one of those things that must be mentioned as it will ruin the food if you don't like it. I am one of those people who happen to hate it. I think the server should have known what was in it.

User

I was visiting Edmonton for a training. Rocky Mountain Icehouse was a suggestion to us by a few locals we met at dinner. The place has a modern decor, great and unique drink selections (with a few fancy custom cocktails), and great jams. The "VirtualDJ" guy in the booth was a jerk though, and the staff was slightly pretentious and seemed un-familiar when it came to us asking a few simple questions about local beers and the cocktail menu. Neat place, but several areas (particularly customer service) require improvement.

Poor Service, Great Food

Went there on a Friday night for a birthday party. Sat down several minutes before the end of happy hour but wasn’t apporached by our waitress until after it ended. She unapologetically told us she just started (her shift I’m guessing) and refused to let us order the specials.

It took a long time to get drinks ordered and even longer to get a food menu. Simple requests like ketchup were never fulfilled. Ordering additional drinks was a tedious ordeal. There were lots of empty seats so IMO there wasn’t a great excuse for the lack of service.

I’d love to go back for the food, because it was fantastic, but not a fan of being forced to tip 18% on subpar service. Tips should reflect the quality of your experience and I feel this waitress took advantage of the automatic gratuity.

User

Honestly this place sucks in comparison to everything else on jasper ave... sold out of happy hour food in 20 mins, full price food not even cooked through and shitty wifi... SKIP.

User

Went for dinner with my mother and sister just last week. While the food was delicious the service was atrocious. I was done my food before the wine I had ordered even showed up and the waitress was impossible to locate. The decor is beautiful however, it felt like we were yelling at each other to be heard over the music. Music that loud I expect for a night out drinking, but it was annoying for a 6pm dinner.

User

Great staff! Wicked music on Tuesdays! Honestly have a wicked time every time I'm here. Serious lack of deep fried cheeses in a stick and or ball form though.
