Roelofsen`S Guest House Description

Our Guest House is located in beautiful Southern Alberta, between Fort Macleod and Lethbridge. Nicely hidden behind Blue Spruce trees you will surely have lots of privacy with a view to the South /South West. You can see all the way to Chief Mountain in Montana, USA. More to the West you can see Fort Macleod with in the background the windmills in front of the Rocky Mountains. Fort Macleod is a nice historic town with several restaurants, Tim Horton and good stores for all your daily needs.

Our vacation home is located centrally which makes it easy to make day trips to Waterton Park, Frank Slide, Writing-on-Stone Park, Birds of Prey Centre, Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump and many more "must visit" places. And, after a nice day trip, it's great to come back and relax in “Your Home away from Home”

Our Guest House has everything to make it a most relaxed vacation:

Someone suggested me to put the price range under "About". Unfortunately, I can't get it changed🤷‍♀️ If someone can tell me "how-to". For now, I'll post it in this post :-)

Many have stayed at our guest house over the summer and enjoyed the new patio. I’m still booked up until the end of October, but if they will be able to sit outside? 🤷🏼‍♀️

This morning the coating on the patio has been applied and it looks really nice! Some landscaping has been done as well. Almost done with all the upgrades. Just some finishing touches and a new entry door yet.

We will always try to make your stay as comfortable as possible. So we have rented wheelchairs in the past for the not so mobile guests. But we have also a solution for the guest whose shoulder is injured. This guest asked for a recliner to sleep in... we deliver 😁. Planning on booking our guest house? Feel free to ask anything! We will do our best to make it work 😊.

Not completely done yet, but our guest can relax when they arrive today :-) Some more work to the big patio, the small patio by the entrance has to be done yet and the garden will also get a makeover.

Yes, it’s warming up and construction has been resumed. And this afternoon the temperature raised to 31! In full sun and no wind. Our dog Roxy really enjoys it too and so do we 😁

Thanks to all our guest that stayed at our Guest House in the past year. It's so nice to meet new guest and also more and more returning guest. Being in "business" for just 5 years and getting more bookings every year. I even have the first booking for 2019! :-) Love it to make a "home away from home" for guest that have to travel from far. Some were very tired when they arrived and later said that it felt like an oasis 😊.

Exciting news📢😀. After a very busy summer we are excited to do some renovations. The old big patio has just been taken off and we hope to get a nice new, stamped concrete patio soon. And we will do the same for the small patio by the entree. Hopefully the weather stays good. We were planning to do it this summer, but with so many bookings it was not possible to get this done. ... But we are still open for business :-) . Worst case scenario is that you won't have a patio, but who is going to sit outside in the winter? ⛄⛄⛄ Planning for next summer? Don't wait too long to book as the first bookings are already confirmed. 🛩️

And people are starting to think about holidays of 2018 already. Just got the first booking for next spring :-) I was booked almost solid for the summer months of 2017, so if you are thinking about renting our place for next summer, book early ;-)

We had a very busy summer and guest always like the view from the guesthouse to the Rockies. Unfortunately we haven't seen the mountains for quite some time 😥. And at the moment Waterton Park has been evacuated. Fire is coming in from the B.C. side, but also just south of the border in Montana there are wildfires. And because of all those fires we have a lot of smoke. I tried to take a picture of it, but in reality it's worse. The air quality is bad. It went from a 6 to a...n 8 in just an hour. Hopefully we will get some rain soon. And we think about all the firefighters that are working hard to keep it under control and save as much as they can.

We got a really "Cool" improvement in our Guest House. A nice air conditioner! We used to have a portable unit, but it was always standing in the way and made a lot of noise. This is a nice and quiet unit that's installed above the door. I'm so happy 😁. And a special thanks to Ben from Apex who was able to get it all installed in such a short time. ... They came out this afternoon, knowing that I was expecting guests by 7pm. But they cleaned up really well, even vacuumed 👍🏻😁🤗.
