Saturday, August 18th, 2018... A lovely quiet morning at the farm was shared with some folks that joined for a Parent and Child session. We took a walk out into the field to gather up Ranger and Zip got up close to the horses while they relaxed and rested from another mosquito filled evening! The children enjoyed a ride after practicing some skills that help us to identify body language cues that would indicate if our horses were feeling safe and comfortable. Thanks for the lovely morning visit, have a happy weekend everyone!

Horse Crazy EAL Summer Camp Five - Day 5, the morning and early afternoon moments from Friday, August 17, 2018! The morning included time to bring in the elder horses who were waiting at the gate, groom and grain them and then work on elaborate slime science experience. Then we let the elder herd back out to the field, all but with the exception of Zip who wanted to stay. Then, after lunch, we prepared the obstacle course for a deeper level of the silent communication challenge, found teams and worked through the chose and worked on another science challenge. The story in photos in two parts! Part one of two!!

Horse Crazy EAL Summer Camp Five - Day 4, the morning moments of Thursday, August 16, 2018! This misty morning was the perfect one to practice new silent communication skills in a team activity with two children and a horse. The name of the game was safety and comfort, if the team could assure that all members, including the horse, were feeling safe and comfortable, then the course would be easily accomplished! Great work teams!! Photos in two parts. Part one of two...

This program offers such a wonderful enriching experience! Fun filled adventures with the horses and where my daughter can grow in trust, confidence and become a steward of nature through farm life play! Thank you Sherry!

This program is nothing short of wonderful. Both my daughters loved going here and had so much fun :-) There is not a day that goes by since these kids have attended that they dont talk about horses, play horses or ask when they can go again.I found sherry to be very welcoming, people friendly, and such a kind soul, to open up her home like this and give kids the chance to learn and love horses is incredibly awesome of her:-) Im glad to see her business grow and look forward to having my girls attend:-)

Sherry is an excellent instructor. Patience, kind, easy going, accommodating. My daughter absolutely loves Sherry, her kids, and her farm! Sherry teaches horsemanship, and great farm values, plus safety.

Our kids went to Rural Wonders for full days during the Teachers Convention and had an AWESOME time!

Having never met Sherry and because what she was offering sounded "too good to be true", I was very cautious checking credentials, records and references - which were all great! And upon speaking with Sherry directly, I could hear the enthusiasm in her voice of someone who loved kids and is genuinely passionate about giving each one an amazingly unique experience.

It seems Sherry and her family had thought of everything! She is very warm and welcoming and even brought a caged guinea pig "milkshake" for the road trip to make the kids more at ease. Lol

My kids are definitely 'city kids' and don't even have any pets. Giving them opportunities to be out of city limits and experiencing country life and even a little more of nature than we normally do is such a treat. Rural Wonders was a nurturing positive experience that gently encouraged them to explore and try new things while enjoying some of their favourites like hot chocolate, Lego and science experiments. I appreciate that the programming was flexible - ex. when it was too cold they stayed in. They also had the chance to meet some good new friends :)

For a parent, this program was SUPER convenient with door to door service and some flexibility with times. I also really appreciated the way Sherry kept me in the loop through the day with a couple texts and pictures of how the kids were doing.

Of course the true measure of how GREAT our Rural Wonders experience was happened at bedtime when I told the kids they'd get to go back the next day and they both shouted "YAY!!"

Thank you Sherry and family for taking such good care of our kids!

Can't wait until they can visit the farm again :)

I believe that this is a very wonderful and beautiful place and my daughter was in heaven!! She loved the Horses, and furry friends to play with!! Sherry is a wonderful teacher and takes pride in what she does. If you have a horsey lover I would totally recommend this place for sure. My daughter will be back as much as I allow her!! Lol. I spent a couple hours watching the children play and have fun and ride the horse just wishing I could have done this as a little girl.

Unfortunately myself and my 6 year old daughter had an unpleasant experience with Sherry & her program.

My 6 year old was misbehaving and I feel the situation was made out to be way worse then it actually was, my daughter was not dealt with appropriately, and I was very disappointed with the lack of professionalism.

My daughters will not go back. I think Sherry has a great idea here but needs to be more open minded to the fact that not all children are going to be easy to handle (especially the younger ones) Or even just start working with a more mature age group.
