So well done. An article that helps men gain perspective, understanding, and empathy for the reality of women in our present culture. Good men can make a difference by first understanding the reality that is not theirs and secondly, by supporting the safety needs of all the women we know and love in our lives.

Connection. We all want it and need it. But connection comes when we are compassionate to others. What a great little article to give you the skill and ability to become more compassionate. Try it as an experiment in this next week and see how you connect with people around you. You will be amazed.

Well, after teaching in an addictions counselling program for 12 years, I am amazed that people are surprised to hear that alcohol is actually a poison to the human body. This article is very sobering (yes, pun intended). Yes, I drink alcohol on occassion. But maybe it might be time to assess our relationship with this poison. What role does it play in our lives? What influence might we be giving to it without even thinking about it. This article makes one reflect...

A great little graphic that is so important to remember when we fail. So important share with kids as it gives a much more realistic perspective to success in life.

Many may romanticize the farming lifestyle, but the truth is so very different. In my early years, I worked on a farm. The stress, pressure and complexities of the industry make farming not for the faint of heart. But farmers with a cowboy mentality can unfortunately hurt themselves and their families. What a great tool and gift to give to your teenage. If you have a teenager, you will love this concept and your teen will probably use it when they are a parent too.

If you know someone with bipolar disorder, you need and they need to read this well written article. I have found that one of the hardest aspects for persons with bipolar to get treatment is the difficulty of accepting a new reality in their life. This new reality involves reworking their entire identity to be able to encorperate BP disorder into their identity. The only way to do this is to come to terms with some significant losses but to also realize what they have not ...lost and how to accept themselves even with this disorder. It is an incredible feat to do. This article helps. It speaks to the challenges of BP disorder but also to, yes, the positives it can bring in becoming even better people with the disorder. I applaud all those who live with bipolar disorder who have done the work of integrating the disorder POSITIVELY into their identity. We have a lot to learn from them

This is a helpful info-graphic from FACT-AB that helps to explain the basics of regulation of the counselling profession in Alberta. Please feel free to share it, print it, post it, and if you have any Albertan family or friends, get them to do the 2-minute online process for sending a letter to their MLA on this important issue at: https://www.pushpolitics.ca/clients/FACT- Alberta/
