Safeway

I've been going to this Safeway for half a year now, and although it's a little on the smaller side I would rank it as one of the best grocery stores in town in terms of price, quality of the products, and professional attitude of the staff. Overall I find it's cheaper than the Brentwood Coop. I've never encountered less than courteous and friendly staff. The place is kept clean, and I've never seen rotting vegetables or mouldy bread on the shelves, like I've seen in lot of other stores (including Safeways) in town. They really do a good job.

Open 8am-11pm every day, excepting reduced hours on holidays.

Pretty small compared with other Safeways, does not even have pharmacy.

Overall the food and shopping expirience is typical. However, today I went to buy a couple of items and bus tickets. When I asked to purchase a pack of bus tickets, the cashier told me the policy had changed and that he would call someone to customer service for me. Seeing as the customer service desk was only 3 feet away, I didn't think much of it.
After 10 minutes of waiting and 2 cashiers calling "Debbie to customer service" a total of 3 times, a lovely cashier named Lillian left her checkout, which had a long line, to helpme purchase my bus tickets. As I was doing so, Debbie finally appears asking "what did you want, Lillian? " Lillian said "Nothing" and Debbie just rolled her eyes, and shook her head, like she was so hard done by. And started walking back to the break room.

It's got a little bit of everything. Their cakes look and taste very good. Good quality products sold. However, they have cooked ham already sliced and and they won't slice it for you if you want thinner slices.
