Safeway Kensington Calgary

Decent urban Safeway. Not huge but has a good assortment of SKUs. Convenient, and Safeway isn’t a cheap store unless it’s a sale item. Important store to the neighborhood and area residents

I go here for sandwiches all the time and the Deli staff are always so friendly. I have found that the staff here are generally friendly, cashier's are quick, and that the store is very well kept. It is one of my favourite Safeways.

Also, do not be deterred by the parking- they have underground here as well.

Good location. Clean, and has friendly staff. Parking is a bit sparse but unless you go at a super busy time, you shouldn't have an issue finding a space. Nice that it's next to the train as well. No more Starbucks in there though which I miss. Other than that, great.

This Safeway is always well kept, clean and fairly stocked up. The location is great since it's right next to the Sunnyside C-Train stop. It's also easily accessible by bike with the convenient bike lanes located on the street parallel to the C-train line and also up 10th street North.

One of my favorite things is the fact that there is UNDERGROUND PARKING available!! So in times of mother nature's wrath, this is where you want to shop to avoid having to load your groceries in to the car in wet or cold weather.

Staff here have always been extremely friendly and helpful. I've never had a bad experience here over the many years.

This Safeway has produce stocking issues. The produce is often of low quality, if the produce is even in stock at all. I have had to change dinner plans due to them either being out of broccoli or the onions looking like they were about to rot.

Otherwise, it generally has good meat and non produce stocks.

I generally go to the Safeway on 12th Ave SW or the Co-Op for produce now.

As usual grocery store. Few stuff is overly priced. Bakery section has huge collection. Fresh and delicious fruits.
Onsite Tim Hortons!?

It is smaller than others and they don't have as many things, but it's handy and if you live in Kensington you can easily walk there.

More tills!!! If it wasn't for the location, I think many would shop somewhere else. Grocery store itself is fine, if not a little expensive (but you pay for location), but it's the lack of open tills and self serve that makes this place almost unbearable. Unless you come in the first or last hour of it being open, you will wait in a long line. It's been this way for years, so much so that it's a local joke. Please Safeway, please fix this. More self serve, or more people, whatever is needed.

Sub-par selection of items, lines are always long and the staff are not that friendly most of the time. Way too many homeless people smoking and begging for money at the entrance. It has lots of items, but its not the location you stop in and grab something with your kids because of the belligerent homeless people at the entrance. I avoid this place if I can.

I would not say that Safeway is cheap and good on every product, but they offer comparatively good quality. Especially the flyer's products are good price.

This branch is quite convenient to non car owers as just besides of Sunnyside C-train station. Just pop in and out without long walking.

It's Safeway. Perhaps their produce is a bit better than other locations, but really it's not significantly different than the dozens of other Safeway stores I've been to.

Clean and well organised. Staff is helpful and you can find good products.

My least favourite safeway. The lines are always crazy, and the parking lot gets chaotic. Go across the street to sunnyside market for a more relaxed experience. Plus they have Sidewalk Citizen.
