Safeway Woodbine Square

I live closer to Glenmore Landing Safeway but here in Woodbine it's smaller, staff much more friendly and it has the local corner store feel. Like my Grandpa's store he had when I was young. Knew all the families by name. Treasure them as family. This Safeway is just like that!!!

Always clean, great meat selections, best deal in pop when on sale! Long term staff so gives you that small town feeling!

Good selection, open till 11pm and their deli has a good selection of pulled chicken, pork, or turkey with no sauces! Which is a great protein pick up for those of us watching what we eat.

Do you know that all their bread is frozen when put on shelves or thawed in back. I talked to an employee once wondering why my bread was frozen. Also beware of their meat. We will not buy meat from Safeway anymore because it's always old and grey and if you buy a pack of ground beef that seems to look fresh, it will be grey on the inside. I've even had to return beef there. When will Safeway sell good quality beef because after all Alberta is known for the beef. Safeway might be off my list of places to shop soon. We just go to Co-op and it's the best.

Sick of being treated poorly by cashiers there. I will shop there less and endeavour to use the self serve machines only. That said, have often been snapped at by staff when the machine has an error and they have to correct it. Even though one time the machine showed an error and said 'change due $2' in big letters on the screen, the woman kept asking us repeatedly, 'are you sure you didn't get your change?' Like we were trying to pull a scam to get $2.

Freindly staff with shelves which never seem to be empty make trips to this store a highlight of weekly shopping

I only give it a 1 because that's the lowest rating. I was in there twice this week mid to late morning and could not get bread. The shelves were empty. They do have their priorities though, the donuts were out. I have been shopping at this safeway for more than 25 years and it it only getting worse. Produce is rotten, no fresh bread or buns, prices rising and staff always complaining. Why don't you just close down and save us all.

My local grocery store. I like it for the most part. I prefer going here than to other local grocers

I'm in this store every week and the staff always are wonderful. Having worked in retail foods I know how challenging a job they have so when I'm asked in the checkout 'No kids today?' That shows ME that they do care about their customers.

Prices are high, as expected and I'm sorry but that's all on HO, not the staff.
