Checked with no issues, got to our room and it was small but served it's purpose. Parkade elevators were closed at 11, had to use the lobby ones, no big deal. Hubby had to go back to our car and we stayed on the 20th floor, he pushed the elevator button and it never came up for him. He waited for like 5 minutes and nothing happened. He had to walk down 20 flights to the car. The elevator worked to go back up. Wanting to plug my phone in by the bed I noticed the plug in was broken behind the nightstand. It was pushed in to the wall. Had to force the plugs in to their ports so they would stay. Made sure I wasn't touching the insides of the wall. In the morning hubby needed to use the bathroom. The fan doesn't work. No switch to turn it on. Took a shower, fogged up the entire room. Had to open the Crack of a window to get the windows to unfog. Went swimming, soaker tub was nice and warm but the Jets weren't strong or working at all. Lots of tile browned or missing. The pool was nice though. Told the front desk about the electrical issue, she wrote it down and I hope it got fixed! Told her about the fan and she said they've never worked all the years she'd been there. Mentioned a big renovation coming up - hope to stay the night again when renos are completed!

Rooms needs updating a little worn, nothings changed since I was there in the 90s

User

Ok hotel but need to invest in lifts/elevators. Had refurbished room which was good except aircon didn't work. To be fair Front desk offered to move us but we didn't want the hassle so they sent up a fan. Service was good in the hotel. Just fix the lifts!

It is a good hotel for the price and the location. If you are expecting anything better than you should stay at a higher price better rated hotel. This is not a Westin, Hilton or Hyatt. It is great for what it is. It is clean, the beds are comfortable, the furniture in most of the rooms is new and the staff is very friendly. The food at the restaurant is pretty good and the bar upstairs as well...a bit overpriced. They do have a bit of an issue with water pressure and temperature control in the showers on some floors. I recommend staying in a higher floor... 20 or higher. The rooms are better up there.

A comfortable hotel in the city centre. We only stayed one night after a long day of travelling from Montreal before heading off to Banff.

We were made to feel very welcome when we checked in and everything was as it should have been.

Some of the rooms and parts of the hotel looked quite tired but, to be fair, there is quite a refurbishment programme going on at the moment.

We chose to eat in the restaurant connected to the hotel and the food and drinks were pretty good.

Our room was clean and comfortable but we did seem to get a lot of noise from the streets below us and at one point we could hear everything that was going on in the room next door when the occupiers got home from their "party or celebrations" at 3:30 in the morning.

User

Trapped in the elevator for 45 minutes. Decided to take the stairs down next morning, and stairs do not access the lobby. No signage to warn you of that fact.

User

When I booked the room they didn’t mention they were in midst of huge renovation. No pool, no hot tub, lobby is chaos and elevators were terribly slow because half were out of use or being used by contractors. I won’t stay here again.

User

We arrived at noon for check in as we paid for early check in and was told by Nacy one of the receptionists our room wasnt ready she was incredibly rude and told us to wait until 1:30, so we did and at 1:30 again with even more attitude told us we had to continue waiting and that it will be "ready whenever it is ready" it is not 2:10, we are STILL waiting down in the lobby and nothing has been offered, no room, no complimentary drinks, or even an apology or offered discount for the issue. I am more than pissed at this establishment and will not be staying at any Sandman Hotel ever again. They should be disgusted by their lack of customer service.

User

Very disappointing. Room was very hot, air on wasn’t working properly. Plug sockets were doggy. We had to wait 15 minutes for a lift. The pool was out of action due to refurbishment. I’m glad we were only there one night. However the reception staff were very polite and helpful

User

My experience here got worse by the minute. So bad we only stayed for 4 hours and checked out!

User

In desperate need of upgrades, I felt as if I had gone back in time to the 80,s the carpets were disgusting and the swimming pool worse (mold on pool walks, hot tub not working dark and dismal experience)

Restaurant Moxies in need of a cleaner.

User

I understand there are problems during the restoration. But when I noticed I had flea bites from staying in room 1103, on Thursday 15th March. I took a photo behind the head of the bed. It appeared as if it hadn’t been cleaned in months. A hotel of the size and standard should be cleaned regularly to a high standard. The last thing I want in a bed I paid for, is to share it with bugs.

User

I dont usually do bad ratings but this hotel is disappointment!we arrived at afternoon.. to my surprise we have to pay the parking lot for $24! Ok, then thats fine.. what happend next? The elavator is not working! So we used the stairs going up to the lobby! Our room is gross! Hairs on the bed and looks like the dube doest change.hairs on the bathtub and on floor even at ceiling! Furnitures and carpet are not really impressive as you can see its very old. I cant believe i pay that much for that hotel. At that night my husband wants to go and refund our money back but i asked him to stay as me and my kids are very tired for driving 8 hours going to calgary! The pool is dirty as well. False advertisement. I dont wanna go back there anymore!
