Sandy Beach Park

This is a nice walk down the hill. If you cross the suspension bridge there are picnic areas a washroom that has summer only hours and closes in Sept.

Like other reviewers say this is an upscale neighborhood and not on the beaten trail. It is also a dog park. If you don’t mind dogs, this is a great trail to loop around. From the street up above, down to the park and back up is +/- 2Km. There are two trail choices on the decent, one is steep the other is less steep.

Great park. Unfortunately somebody broke my window and stole my sunglasses in the middle of a very hot, busy august day at the park. I was pretty shocked. So make sure you have nothing valuable in your car.

Love this park and part of the pathway system. Great Fishing holes. Awesome fire pits. Very nice inner city escape!

Such a wonderful park. It's parking lot was just redone and they have the overflow parking area open for those really busy summer days that everyone river floats. Great place to bring the whole family.

Reserve a picnic/ barbeque spot for a big family get together and let the kids float their dinghys down the little river. There are lots of trees and grass to relax on. Be prepared to see a few dogs running free since there are off-leash areas on the hill above and the east side of the river. Nice little picnic spot.

Love to play in the river during visits. Nice area to get wet. Nice up to date washrooms added since flood. Good gathering areas. Nice spot along the bike path to stop.

Really nice park in Calgary! It was a good picnic spot. Super super busy when we were there.

There was a persistent bad smell!! I didn't enjoy my stay. Had to leave because it was stinking 😕
