Saneal Camera Supplies Ltd

Looked at buying a new lens for my Nikon and the sales agent let us try the new 50mm lens with a demo D750 and was very helpful and not pushy at all. Factory pricing on all Brand named stock. Will come back.

I rarely write a review, unfortunately, I have to write this one for the negative reason. Fine print of the refund policy was not visible, staff member didn't let me know the details. One usually talks to a salesperson at the counter and pay at the counter, and one would rarely pay at the cashier where the fine print of refund policy is posted.

Long story short, I found out the item I purchased - Lumix BCJ13 battery - is way overpriced at Saneal than other available sources. So I decided to refund it. Of course, I did not get what I wanted and was deterred by staff member, who also investigated the brand-new battery for 20 minutes as if I was trying to scam the store. That is one of the worst 30 minute experience I ever had in retail in Calgary in the last 20 years.

Unfortunately, I HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND anyone to consume at Saneal.

Terrible no return policy. Must get either in store credit or exchange for item which the store people don't tell you.I'm glad i didn't get a big ticket item like a camera body or lens. Employees didn't care at all and were exceedingly complacent and condescending when I tried to return my item.I will never go back .Camera Store or Vistek for me!

Some employees were very helpful, others were uninterested and unhelpful.
I'm new to cameras, and don't necessarily know exactly what I need to get the job done, but the guy I spoke to had no interest in helping me figure that out. I guess he's too busy to help newbies. I don't want to be made to feel like a moron just because I didn't know that some tripod heads already have quick release adapters; mine doesn't. If he had spent more than ten seconds with me he probably could have showed me exactly what I was looking for, which was a quick release adapter and plate.
A young woman working behind the desk was very helpful when I came later to purchase 120mm film. If I shop at this store again, it will be because she was very pleasant.

I went to have a passport photo taken. The guy was extremely rude and acted like I was coming at the wrong time (it was 5:00pm). It took 30 minutes to process the photos. When I took them to the passport office the guy there explained to me how poor the pictures were, they didn't even show my shoulders! I couldn't use them and had to go to Shoppers, where I paid 15 instead of 25 and dealt with an extremely friendly guy who got me the pictures in under 5 min! Would never go back to Saneal!! The guy there needs to take a course in customer service!

SANEAL Calgary SELLING DISCONTINUED/FAULTY CAMERAS !

I have purchased a Polaroid Solcialmatic instant camera from the SANEAL store (Market Mall - Calgary) in December 2015.
Within 8 days, i had to return it as it was not holding charge.

6 months down the road, I realize the replacement camera displays the exact same issue (battery not holding charge).
Decided to call Polaroid to inquire, and realized the model had actually been discontinued back in September 2015 for that exact same malfunction !

Called SANEAL head office in Calgary, explaining the entire matter, and expecting a proposal to resolve the issue, since as a distributor they did not advise me as a customer of the product defect (twice in my case !)
I was then told that they did not consider there was any wrong doing ; that as far as they are concerned they are not liable for getting manufacturer information after release, nor passing them on to their customer ; and that all they could do was advise me to take the matter with Polaroid !

As far as i am aware, SANEAL is in fact still selling this model in store and on their website !?

I fail to understand how a business even though acting as an approved distributor/reseller of a certain brand, does not accept the liabilities that should naturally derive from the fact that they are accepting the commercial transaction when selling the product.

Furthermore, it has become obvious to me that SANEAL Calgary has no interest in defending its customer's interest ; and this experience has breached any confidence i would have in doing business with SANEAL Cameras in the future.

Probably won't go back. They aren't very friendly, and I felt like i was interrupting something when I walked in. Seeing as there are more choices in town with better reviews, I'd advise to check out their competitors before heading their direction....
