Great friendly service. The wait is all the same.

As one of the comments below said , worst customer service & banking experience ever in my life. I've never left a negative review in google before, so i guess this is it. I have been with TD for 8 years and was using their TD Aeroplan Infinite card. I think it was time for me to switch a better credit card ,and i learned that Scotiabank's credit card has the better cash back rate compared to TD. So i made my first visit to Scotiabank and i got referred to their financial service representative or so called "financial advisor" named Felix. This guy manages to mistreat and disrespect me in every possible way. First, He asked about my major in university and then questioning my knowledge because i chose TD? He said TD offers no benefit and all of their products are bad. I already felt so offended from the first 3 minutes of the conversation. And then, he proceeded to discredit TD and convinced me to switch my personal account over. He told me that i am still a student, so i have to open a personal account in order to be qualified for their credit card. It makes sense but then he said i won't be qualified for most of the credit cards anyway as i am still a student. In fact, i am working and studying at the same time and will be getting my PR status soon. My annual income was over $60,000 before going back to school and that's how i got my Aeroplan Infinite Card @ TD. However, Felix "the financial advisor" did not care about my reasons and asked not only once but TWICE, "SO , WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT INCOME NOW?" in a very rude manner. He just wants to emphasis that i am not qualified for their high-limit credit card now and want me to switch over to the lower-limit. I told Felix that i am not interested at this moment and then he didn't even look at me or say bye when i left his room. 5 mins later, I went to TD (right across from this branch) and got my cashback infinite credit card. Scotiabank might have better products but their customer service is a nightmare. I will never ever visit Scotiabank again after this terrible experience.

Worst banking experience ever. Been using Scotiabank for my company and personal accounts for over 10 years and have never had an issue before visiting this branch. I came in with a certified cheque and all the proper paperwork to go with it. They took my certified cheque telling me it will clear immediately and is in my account... Then I ask to withdrawal money from my account and was told that they've put a hold on the certified cheque for 5 business days that 2 seconds ago was in my account. I talked to the manager and was told certified of not their going to put a hold on it. Questioning the reason for certifying a cheque, she dismissed me saying she will not do anything for me and told me to leave. So I demand the cheque back, and they wrote canceled on the cheque. I took it to a different branch and without question they accepted my cheque and released funds immediately.
Scotiabank has always been good to me and it is this branch alone that I had an issue with.
I made a complaint and hopefully they will better educate their managers and not tell someone to leave instead of answering their questions.

Dave Bradley's review kind of caught me off guard. I find Scotiabank quite ahead when it comes to technology, maybe not as far ahead as TD for launching new services, but the customer service here far makes up for it!

Better service than the other ScotiaBank locations I've been to. Still I would be surprised to learn that ScotiaBank is going under someday soon. They are a relic stuck in the past.
