The world we live in keeps on changing and so does Scouts Canada. If you have not heard about the reorganization here is what you need to know.
The country has been split into 3 regions West, Central and East. Each is served by a new position called Regional Director. Each council instead of sharing a Council Executive Director will now have a specific Council Relationship Manager (CRM) dedicated to them. Area Support Managers (ASMs) are now Scouting Relationship Manager (SRM...s).
What does this mean for Chinook? Well here is the exciting part!!
Fiona Nicholson is the Western Regional Director serving AB, BC, NWT and the Yukon.
Kelly Logan is Chinook Council Relationship Manager.
Kelley Beveridge, Liana McCall and Jim Taylor are now Scouting Relationship Managers serving in different capacities (details in the linked document).
Simon Evison is also now a Scouting Relationship Manager for Pacific Coast Council having recently moved to Vancouver, where he will endure terrible warm winters (sarcasm alert).
Congrats to the team and we wish them well in there new roles.
For details on how the Western Region is organized follow the link. http://files.constantcontact.com/…/e4ea 369c-22cc-40fe-b69a-…

Scouting brings the world together. Several Canadian Rovers are currently working for 8 months at Kandersteg International Scout Centre including a few from Alberta!
Will you be next? Where in the world will scouting take you?

**Update: Due to unexpectedly large numbers for the FTE Food program, the offer for supper is no longer available. Apologies.**
There will be a Gilwell Reunion Campfire at FTE on Friday August the 24th at the Gilwell Hall Fire-ring at Camp Woods.
All members of 1st Gilwell (those Scouters past and present who have earned their WBII) are welcome to attend. After the Gilwell Fire you have the opportunity to join the FTE family campfire that will be in progress at Woods Hall.
... Supper is available for $10 before hand but please let us know prior to Wednesday (Aug 22) afternoon (steve.wierenga@scouts.ca) if you are coming for supper.
Note: It may be a flameless fire if the bans are not lifted but will be fun all the same.

Clearly these kids aren’t part of the Scouting movement. Let’s make sure we create opportunities for more kids in Scouting.

Call out for Wilderness First Aid!
Do you know anyone who might be interested in a hands on Wilderness F/A course with Scouter James? Four fun and action packed days of practical learning. It's just one of the awesome sessions being offered at this year's Family Training Event at Camp Woods from Aug 19-25.
