About Seniors Secret Service
Seniors Secret Service is a non-profit organization providing Birthday and Christmas cheer to isolated seniors in Calgary.
Seniors Secret Service Description
Seniors Secret Service offers truly unique services to Calgary and the surrounding area. Our target beneficiaries are isolated seniors 60 years or older who tend to be marginalized because of their isolation. Many have no family or other support network to include them as active members of Calgary's vibrant community.

Flames tickets score big for two lifelong fans! A huge thank you to one of our secret Santas this year who bought a pair of Flames tickets for senior Glen, who is a huge supporter! Unfortunately, Glen was in the hospital during the game he had tickets for. A Glamorgan Care Centre friend and fellow-fan was able to attend. Melody Strand, the Director of Recreation at Glamorgan Care Centre, said he had the time of his life, and was excited to get a picture with the Calgary Tower... too(below). When Glen came back from the hospital, Glamorgan Care Centre reached out to us and we reached out to the Flames and were blown away by their generosity. Communications Assistant Kelsey McKay hooked Glen up not just with a new pair of tickets, but also arranged for Harvey the Hound himself to deliver a custom jersey to him during the game. Not only that, but when Kelsey heard the Flames fans at Glamorgan Centre shared jerseys with one another, she donated more jerseys to the group. Thank you - thank you - thank you - to our generous Santa for an amazing gift that was very loved, to the staff at Glamorgan Care Centre for letting us know about Glen's situation and arranging for his tickets to make someone else's day and to the Calgary Flames staff for making Christmas come twice! We are always so humbled by the kindness and generosity we have in this community.

We often have to fulfill last minute gift requests for seniors who have recently entered low-income, assisted living or palliative care facilities, or who are hospitalized over Christmas. Each London Drugs location in Calgary has a tree setup in stores with wish list items. To donate, drop off new, unwrapped items from the wish list at any London Drugs location in Calgary no later than December 11th. Christmas has come early for Seniors Secret Service!
A Calgary family has generously offered to match any financial donation that Seniors Secret Service receives between now and December 24th up to a maximum of $25,000.
Working in partnership with 125 service providers and care homes in Calgary and the surrounding area we have been able to identify 4900 isolated seniors in the community and provide them with gifts for Christmas, purchased by volunteer secret Santas.
... As a very small organization that does not receive any government or United Way funding – this is an amazing opportunity for us! Monetary donations keep our operations running, helping us make sure we have boxes to pack gifts in, supplies for forgotten Christmas presents, birthday present packages throughout the year, hospital stay packages and so much more.

Still going! We want to send out a huge thank you, to all of our volunteers, West Direct Express Courier, Calgary Police Service, London Drugs, Opa!, Cascades, and Calgary Archives.
It's gift-sort day 2017! Look at all our amazing volunteers organizing the incredible generosity of our city!
We collected over 3000 gifts in 36 hours this weekend! Huge thanks to all the volunteers who helped out and to West Direct for all their support! We would also like to thank the Calgary Police Service for their continued support and good humor.

We have many veterans matched with Secret Santas this year. One veteran, 97 years old, is asking for red rose tea and lemon cookies. We hope his Christmas is brightened by his gift and he knows he is being thought of. It is sad to know that some servicemen and servicewomen are now living in isolation and loneliness in our city as they age. Lest we forget the sacrifices of those no longer with us, and of those still here who risked everything to make the world better for all of us.
what a wonderful thing to do for all the seniors in Calgary and area that may be alone at Christmas and on their birthday .I know there are many people in Edmonton and area that would just be thrilled to get involved is there anyway you can reach out to them as well ?

Losing my Dad and Grandpa to Cancer within the last year and a half and having this first Christmas without my dad I felt empty. Finding it hard to feel joy, I found out about this program and decided to take part and I am so thankful because it filled my heart to know that we got to be a part of something so awesome. I found some joy. Thank you for letting us be a part of this program and we would love to make it a part of our Christmas every year.
