White and brown rice seem so similar, could one actually be bad? The short answer is yes. Believe it or not, brown rice is actually good for you. It’s loaded with tons of important nutrients like Magnesium, Phosphorus, Selenium, Niacin, B6 and Fiber. Brown rice contains manganese which helps with bone formation and helps to regulate blood pressure. Brown rice also contains antioxidant cancer fighting. Brown rice has a low glycemic index too.
So what about white rice? Well d...uring the process of refining brown rice into white rice, most of the nutrients are stripped away. White rice contains less amounts of Vitamin B3, B1, B6, manganese, phosphorus, and iron than brown rice. White rice has also been stripped of all its Fiber and fatty acids. What are you left with? Starch!

I don’t know about you, but my weight isn’t the only thing affected when my eating is off. Normally the first thing to go is my mood, then my skin, and finally my weight. It’s proof that the food I eat, really affects the way I feel. This is why I encourage people to find the foods that feed your body as well as your soul. Find what foods make you thrive and enjoy eating them.
