We're super excited to announce that Shades of Grey Tattoo will be moving...across the hall! We'll be moving the tattoo studio into a much smaller and more intimate space that we're currently hard at work renovating into an absolutely beautiful shop! These folks are the dopest... At home atmosphere. like my chilhood bedroom even. Great artists. Ive had multiple pices here by a couple diff artists that still do the occasional guest spot aswell as world class touring atists pop in from time to time. Best to follow so you get a heads up when guests come through. Although the artists on hand rock some mean skills.

The best tattoo experience I had. Super laid back atmosphere. Joel did an amazing job on my Astro Boy' I couldn't love it more!

Single-handedly the coolest tattoo shop I have ever been in. Joel did an incredible job on my Iron Man tattoo a while ago, and repeated his skill with my Stollery tattoo. I will be going to them for all of my future work, no questions asked. Can’t recommend them enough.

Right from the start I knew I was going to love my tattoo. The communication between Amy and myself is what set her apart. She looked at my references, had me come in for a consultation and I knew she understood exactly what I wanted. She was professional, friendly, and most importantly an amazing artist. In fact so much so that I want to add more pieces to my tattoo and make it a sleeve! I highly recommend Amy and Shades Of Grey!

I followed Amy here from Embedded in St. Albert for my first piece of work. It was totally worth it. The studio space is clean, the staff are professional and knowledgeable, the art they have on display is awesome, the comics and collectibles they have always make for an interesting wait and they host cool events and even made it down to the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo. A fantastic studio that's well managed, staffed and supplied.

I am the Event Co-ordinator for Pitbulls For Life Rescue, today Shades of Grey hosted a Tattoo Fundraiser for us along with a silent auction and a Professional Photo shoot, we cannot thank them enough. The day was seamless and so professional, everyone I talked to said they were so happy with their tattoo and had a really great time :)

Honestly probably the best shop I've been to yet. Super clean, friendly, priced reasonably for the art you're getting done. I've never had any issues with any of the artists. Although Mary is no longer there, Chris has stepped up to be my new artist and deal with my whiny butt. Anytime anyone asks me anything about my tattoos I'm proud and honored to say shades of grey and recommend everyone there.

Had my very first tattoo done here by Mary, and it was a great experience. If you need something nerdy done, this is the place to go! I was a little emotional during my consult (long story), but I left feeling super confident that everything was going to be awesome.



Long story short, I'm so happy with my inner forearm piece, and I new I would from the initial concept sketches I was texted/emailed. I hope Mary will do some guest spots from her new shop in BC so she can do my other arm!

Got a tattoo back in may by Jon. Loved the way it came out and how relaxed the whole process went. My husband and I were temporarily living in Edmonton due to the fort mcmurray wildfire and had no childcare for our medically complex son. The shop was more than accommodating to myself as well as my husband watching my son and ogling over all the toys and comics. Love this shop and would recommend it for sure.

Fantastic customer service! Made us feel like it was the right place to be as soon as we walked in! Very clean and all staff are very personable! Thank you so much Joel, we love our tattoos!!

Everything about Shades is welcoming. The staff are helpful, knowledgeable, extremely talented, and full of integrity. I’ve been tattooed here by two different artists, and had great experiences with both. Shane runs a great shop!

Corrina did my newest tattoo a couple of days ago at the Edmonton Expo. She was very professional and really easy to talk to. Made sure that my pain level was good from time to time and didn't rush through it. Very amazing job. Definitely recommend this shop to ANYONE.

Came in just over a year ago for my first tattoo. Wanted to get the Norse compass for my inner shieldmaiden and was recommended Chris by several friends. He did not disappoint! He came up with a great design and placement that I could not have envisioned myself. And he was really professional and made my first tattoo an awesome experience. The end result was amazing and I get a lot of great comments from people. Would highly recommend and can't wait to come back and get more ink!
