Shang De Tai Chi Praying Mantis Martial Arts Association

Our mission is to preserve and teach traditional martial arts to the community. We are a non-profit martial arts school teaching kung fu and tai chi to children and adults.

Our organization Shang De Tai Chi Praying mantis martial arts association was founded by our chief instructor Sifu Tom Ng in 1997. Our mission is to preserve and teach the Traditional martial art of the tai chi praying mantis kung fu. Our style combines the footwork of the monkey with the arms and claws of the praying mantis insect. It feature short, medium and long range fighting techniques However, equally important is our dedication to teach and incorporate into our everyday life the 8 virtues of Trust, Integrity, Loyalty, Obligation, Respect, Benevolence, Peace and Harmony. This is the true essence of learning martial arts as we integrate our mind, body and spirit. Chief Instructor and founder of Shang De, Sifu Tom Ng. , Assistant instructors Sifu Ben Ma and Sifu Bill Gee.

We currently have over 45 members ranging from age 6 to 76 Participating in our classes. As a non profit association instructor we do not receive any monetary rewards for teaching, Rather we are compensated by nurturing and developing martial artists who one day will be leaders within our communities. We are truly a family at Shang De where we take care of each other, we are parents, friends and mentors to our members.

Saturday 10: 00am - 11: 00am Junior (Ages 6-12) Students
11: 00pm - 12: 30pm Youth (Ages 13-17) Students
Sunday 10: 30am - 12: 00am Intermediate / Advanced Students
