Adding some bio control to the thistle patch in cell 4. We try to use cattle to control weeds as much as we can but we chose to add a little more “help” this year. These little bugs feed off the thistles and will hopefully decrease the size of the patch over the next few years.

This is one of my favorite places on the farm ❤️and yes she did go swimming !!!

My helper and I took a picture down the fence line between 2 paddocks showing the growth since the spring graze (about 45 days rest) ready to be grazed and the second picture is amount we leave as soil armor to help capture and retain moisture, help feed the microbes and prevent erosion.

Every year we have to move cattle across highway 36 to get from one piece of grassland to another. This gets harder and harder every year as traffic increases and fences along the road disappear. We were very grateful for all of our help on 2 legs ... and four!!
