Signal Hill Dental Centre - Calgary Dentist

I am regular patient with this clinic . Dr Arvind is really a nice in nature and master in profession. but staff is not really helpful. Many time I have problems with them. Today morning I gave them a call to book an appointment for my missing work. The lady on call told me that she will ask dr and will give me a call. no call received. I call after 2 hour. she told me about root cannel. I explained again to her that it is replacement of temp filling to permanent. she told me ok I will give you call after asking with dr. no call for 2 hour. same practice(forget) . when I ask for this negligence she speak very rudely and close phone. such a nice staff they have.

I used to hate dentists since my last one did such a poor job on my teeth. So far I am very happy with Signal Hill, they have been very informative and helpful and are taking care of my ugly smile! Great staff and a nice clean environment.

I had been going to this clinic for about two years. My previous dentist was in the NE, and I had moved to the SW so I decided to find a new clinic to avoid the long drives. I showed up for my regular checkup and found that my regular dentist had moved and was assigned a new dentist, Dr. Wong. I was a little surprised as I liked my previous dentist and wasn't given any notice, but I accepted the change as Dr. Wong seemed nice enough. After my cleaning, they took an x-ray and Dr. Wong preceded to tell me I had six new cavities. Somehow these 6 cavities had developed in less than 9 months. I was completely shocked as I had been very diligent about flossing, used a electric toothbrush, and also used flouride mouthwash regularly. I also do not eat any processed sugar. I asked her how this could happen if I was taking such good care of my teeth. What else extra could I have done? She was flippant and said " It happens, I don't know". I asked her to show me the six cavities and compare it with the previous film taken 9 months ago. She had a difficult time showing me the specific areas where the cavities were developing. The slightly dark spots in both films looked the exact same. This clinic uses digital X-ray films which in my opinion are not as good as the old technology. I feel the digital films seem to show anomalies that are not necessarily cavities.
I was very upset with the six cavities, as I have never had that many cavities over the course of my whole life. But Dr. Wong acted like it was no big deal, drafted a bill for $1500 and asked to book the appointment for the fillings. She said she could do all six fillings in one visit, which for me was also a bit shocking. I told her i was going to get a second opinion and then she went silent.
I went to my old dentist and told him I would pay out of pocket for another set of x-rays, but he said he would waive the fees (which were only $25 per bite wing at his clinic). He examined me over the course of two months, took two sets of x-rays, ordered the x-rays from Dr. Wong's office to reexamine them. At the end, he concluded that I had "zero" cavities and he didn't understand how there could be six. It has been over a year since Dr. Wong's diagnosis, and I have no symptoms of any cavities. DO NOT SEE THIS DENTIST. She is either very dishonest, or completely incompetent.
Also as a side note, Dr, Wong said i had cavities between the teeth. She counted this as two cavities, or two fillings, as she would have to drill on both sides of the tooth. My old dentist said that an honest dentist would only count this as one filling since they end up drilling one big hole which then only requires one big filling. There's not that much room between the teeth to distinguish two separate holes. So she was basically double charging me. Either this clinic promotes dishonesty for profit, or Dr. Wong has no ethics.

I've been going to the Signal Hill Dental Centre for 10+ years. Dr. John Tran is my regular dentist there and he is fantastic. John presents the facts and recommended treatment plan in such a way that you fully understand your options and why treatment is needed. I not only feel that my business is appreciated but that the entire staff genuinely cares about my well being. Meninder is my hygienist and she is also totally awesome!

Had a terrific team work with me today. They took time to explain the process to me the entire way through, made recommendations for treatment and allowed me to choose how we proceeded, and put me at ease. They take time to get to know you as a person in their time working with you. I highly recommend going here if you want to be comfortable with and enjoy a trip to the dentist. Well done!

The team at Signal Hill is fantastic from the moment you walk in their doors. The hygienists are friendly and really care about your treatment and your experience. I have referred lots of friends there and my dentist actually has made me look forward to going. Strongly recommend Signal Hill Dentistry!

When I moved to Calgary 9 years ago I did a bit of research and compared the rates of several dental practices in the Westhills/Signal Hill area, and found that SH Dental Centre was slightly less expensive than other alternatives. The front office staff is efficient and friendly. Based on our family's experience, I would have no hesitation in recommending the practice to family or friends.

I have been a patient at this dental clinic for over 10 years. I continue to have an amazing experience with the staff who are courteous and friendly, and the business is run extremely well - my appointments always start and end on time.
