Stopped here between shifts for something quick to eat. Had the Iskender kabob that was recommended by the staff. It was excellent! And very reasonably priced too. Will have to stop by again when I on that side of the river.

User

Really tasty meals.however the portions are quiet small comparing to the price.

My favorite restaurant on whyte

User

It's a lovely place for breakfast with a European touch. Deli cuts are Turkish in flavoring. Price point was inline with Whyte Ave Resturants. Would go back again.

User

I'm a bit biased since I am Turkish and love Turkish cuisine -- this place is a delight! Lovely staff, amazing food, decent prices. MUST TRY Turkish Breakfast, grab a couple of simits, menemen (egg omelette with lots of veggies), pides (Turkish flatbread) -- makes for an excellent breakfast spread.

User

I work very close and come in here so much it's almost embarrassing- almost every day. I'm hooked. I've tried a wide array of things and it's all absolutely fantastic. Some of my favourites include the breakfast platter, menemen, toasted simit w/ cream cheese, the lentil rolls (I forget the name), cheese Pide, to name just a few. Amazing. To top it all off the staff are all some of the sweetest people I've met. Love it :)

User

I love the atmosphere! The food was also great! On top of all the pricing was unbelievably reasonable for the food you receive! Looking forward to spend more time there!

User

I just had a wonderful supper with my wife here. She loved the lahmacun and I loved my iskender. We will come back again one morning for the menemen!

User

I had the Adana kebab spicy X 3. It was very good. My friend had a lahmacun, also very tasty. We finished the meal off with a couple of seker pares. I can't wait to make my way back. If you're looking for a solid Turkish joint, that isn't too hard on the wallet, this is your place.

User

I bought a variety of the pastries this morning on their first day and (as a Turkish Canadian who has tasted everything on the menu at a million places in Turkey before) I haven't been disappointed at all:)

I bought a large variety of their pastries and brought them to my office at the U of A this morning. The cheese turnover and the borek were my personal favorites but all my colleagues loved every single item I brought. As a matter of fact a couple of them already came to this Facebook page and LIKED it. Another colleague of mine said a "bakery" is just what Whyte Ave needed.

I strongly recommend everyone to go and try the Turkish pastries, they are all very good!

User

User

Great authentic Turkish foot and cozy atmosphere. Portions are just right and the price is absolutely reasonable for excellent meals. If you havenŌĆÖt tried Turkish Cousine this is the place to do so and if you have you wonŌĆÖt be disappointed.

User

Going to Simit house became an addiction for me. When I heard "whyte ave" first come to my mind is Simit House and: manti, Simit, breakfast, borek, and tatli.

User

Delicious, friendly and very reasonably priced. Went for the first time with four friends, each of us ordered something different. Lots of selection. We got to sample each other's dishes ( everybody loved their choices).

Each of us ordered different Kebabs, which were meal platters for about $16 each. My favorite was the lamb (very tender and lean). Also the Adana Kebab which was a slightly spicy mixture of lamb and beef.

Be sure to try the Simit which the restaurant is named for (a tasty circle of fresh baked bread with sesame seeds, very addictive bagel/soft pretzel).

Turkish coffee comes in cute silver cups and the Turkish tea is nice and strong.

Ask the friendly waitstaff about how to tell your fortune with the coffee grounds. Nice clean modern ambience with booths and tables. Thanks for a great food experience! We are now Simit Turkish food fans!
