The four declared goals of the Simply Music Piano Program for its students are:

1. Learn to love to play the piano
2. Build a large repertoire of great sounding music
3. Learn to self-generate (improvisation, figure out and play any sheet music)
4. Have a highly self-affirming positive experience every step of the way

Music is often called the universal language. So why is only a fraction of the population able to express themselves through music?
Simply Music is based on the premise that all people are profoundly musical, and seeks for everyone in the world to become competent in this language largely through the foundational instrument, the piano.

This program is a breakthrough method that produces unprecedented, quality results, with a speed and ease that most music educators would never have believed possible. An example of these fantastic results are that whereas a student in traditional methods will know only a few songs at any given time even after years of lessons, a Simply Music student will learn around 10 songs within the first couple months, and know 30-50 songs after the first year. Another exciting aspect of the program is the range of genres you learn. You will learn pop, classical, and blues from your first lessons, in addition to the valuable skill of accompaniment.

My name is Maria Watson, and I believe that Simply Music Piano addresses many of the issues found in traditional piano teaching methods that I have observed both as a student learning to play from age 7 through post-secondary music education, and as a teacher of various students here in Lethbridge.
