The condo is very beautiful, quiet, and relaxing with many comfy extras. The housekeeping staff needed to be a little more diligent as there was sticky residue left on the coffee table and when the hide-a-bed was pulled out it had crumbs and a comb in it. The front desk didn't get the message regarding a late checkout and even after told we couldn't get back into the room as the keys had been deactivated. Overall though, this is a gorgeous place. Definitely recommend.

After driving across Canada to stay here, our experience with this resort & spa would have been great, however, when trying to check in and confirm that we purchased the late checkout, the manager was extremely rude, talking over me and not allowing me to speak or even complete a sentence.

I am a very patient and calm person being a nurse and I have never been talked down to like I was here. Not sure If it was because I am a woman, but i am sure it would not have happened had my partner not been parked waiting for me.

It got to the point where I simply wanted to leave and deal with it later and with some else.

The young lady at the front who was unable to answer my question was actually kind and more helpful than the manager, but in a world where first impressions are everything, the manager was the pinnacle of bad first impressions. We purchased the preferred 2 bedroom suite, a bottle of wine/chocolates and services at the spa, so you would think we would have been a valued guest.

We've stayed at 3-star hotels that had better service/ management than what we experienced at the Solara Resort & Spa. Im not sure if its because it as off-season, but if you want to be treated well at a resort, avoid this place.

Oh, and did I mention that while checking out at 1:40(checkout was at 2), we were locked our of our room and were unable to get our things packed into our vehicle. What a great way to make a lasting impression

Sorry to say, but our expectations were MUCH higher for this resort

My visit to Solara was my first-ever experience at a spa resort and I am doubting that I will find one anywhere as good, anywhere else in the world. This was a first-class facility with first-class service and first-class spa treatments but without the first-class snobbery you might find elsewhere. I would recommend it to anyone and would go back again tomorrow if I had the vacation time saved. Can't wait to return.

The impressive stylish and spacious design of the two-bedroom suite was matched by close proximity to excellent facilities, including the spa which enabled me to surprise my wife with a scheduled therapeutic massage while the kids and I enjoyed walking around outside to their delight of seeing wild bunnies. Upon arrival and every morning of our stay, the pool and hot tub proved to be a really great venue for family time. Similarly, the new theatre and home-made popcorn were also much appreciated. Finally, I really enjoyed cooking for everyone given the great set of appliances and the design of the kitchen and dining areas.

I loved my stay at Solara. The room was perfect, the bed was comfortable, the space was well kept, and tastefully done. I was shocked to find out that there was even a blender available for my use!

At check in, there was a small dispute between the two front desk staff. This was off-putting, and I actually had to interject at one point and request that they finish checking me in, and finish their conversation after. I was disappointed to have to do that. Otherwise, a perfect experience.

We were there for a conference, and check-out was before the conference day was done. We were pleased with the helpfulness of the staff, and being allowed to leave our vehicle in the parkade until the day was over.

We needed a place to stay with our pup, and it was a busy weekend we picked to visit Canmore. The suite was nice, clean and well appointed. We had to take a 2 bedroom, as that is all they had, which was fine, except, the second bedroom, had a door between it and the one bedroom suite. It could have been closed off for our purposes. I think I know why it wasn't rented separately, the extra bedroom had toilet issues, it didn't flush properly, and the TV didn't work. These things didn't bother us because no one stayed in that room, but if we had had a guest it would have been an issue. My point is all we needed was the suite, but they wouldn't rent us just the suite, so we had to take the 'two bedroom', in order for them to charge $400 plus a night. I think they could have rented us the suite without the second bedroom, at a lesser price.

There were a number of small things that impact the rating. The faucet in the one bathroom didn't work properly, the toaster needed to be fixed, the floors needed a good cleaning, the toiletries were sparse and not enough towels for the size of room. One last thing...the elevator needs to be fixed in the Aurora building and the staff don't speak English very well.

The resort overall is beautiful. The views are spectacular and the rooms are a good size. Great proximity to town and the freeway.

We had a great stay at Solara with our family. The amenities are great, in particular the pool. The rooms are really lovely and well set-up. Our only issue was the fold out couch that we needed for our 5th member of the group. The bed on the fold-out couch was unbearable to sleep on. We were told though that these beds are being replaced and the staff were really good in doing their best to provide an alternative. The regular beds were brilliant.

We splurged on our vacation to stay here and were very disappointed. While the facilities are nice, we believe at these prices, customer service is more important than granite in the kitchen!
We arrived into the lobby to check in and were not greeted at all by anyone. Not even a "hello, we'll be with you in a minute." We waited and got our room and instructions how to get there.
The first big issue was we had a Yakima gear box on our Honda Element and could not fit in the garage. So we had to pull up front, and unload everything to take it in. No big deal except we got up to our room, the key didn't work and we heard people in the room. We called the front desk and found out we were given the wrong room number and ours was in a different building. So we hauled everything back down and over to another building.
Then we wanted to go to the pool and hot tub. There were used towels laying all over and no clean ones available! We asked to have some brought in. Great for us, but they only brought 6 clean towels and we watched more people come in and have no towels.
Normally we are not "difficult customers" and we rarely complain but for the prices we are paying, we absolutely expected better customer service and better maintenance of pool area.
We were even considering looking at ownership here, but absolutely will not now.
It does not seem like anyone here enjoys their work, they all act like we are inconveniencing them. We have had much better customer service at lower end resorts!!
The 2-bedroom condo itself was very nice. but an odd layout. The smaller bedroom had a TV, but the master bedroom did not. The smaller bedroom had access to the patio, but the master didn't.
Then small things, like the toilet paper holders were falling off the wall.
The kitchen was great and we enjoyed using it and it was well stocked.
Overall, the place was nice but not worth the price!!

We had a small issue when we stayed there in June as we were given a room right above the garage looking over the entry area. As always, the room was great but It was a little loud due to the garage door opening constantly and no scenery. Solara was kind enough to provide a discount for our next stay in July at which point we were given another room overlooking the entrance. The front staff (female and male) were so patient and amazing and they found us a better room in the Aurora building. Made for a much better stay!! We will definitely be back several times a year!

Our experience was exceptional on all levels.I booked this getaway for my husband and I because he was having surgery in February to remove cancer from his lung. When I was booking our stay I was speaking with a young man and was asking about the need for two beds because I wanted my husband to sleep well undisturbed by me moving in the bed. He said there was a sofa bed in the one bedroom suite and I was happy about that. When we checked in last Sunday we were surprised and delighted to see that we were given a two bedroom suite. I thought it was very kind of that young man to do that for us.The suite was beautifully decorated and I really appreciated the quality of the Kitchen tools, pots & pans and all the different appliances. You had thought of everything and that was a pleasant surprise. We like to cook so it was nice to work with pans that don't make the food stick to the bottom! We really did relax to the fullest in the five nights we were there and I'm sure it helped my husband heal all the faster because we weren't frustrated with this or that in the kitchen and the rest of our suite. Nothing has even come close to the quality of your resort and we have been in many of the condos around Canmore over the years. I want to thank you for our wonderful experience. Your staff made us feel special.
With warm regards,

We were upgraded to a two bedroom when we arrived, but unfortunately we were only booked in for one night stay. Very friendly & helpful reception. The condo was impressive with good quality appliances & decor. Lots of kitchen gadgets too. It also was quite clean. Scenic 20 minute walk via boardwalk to downtown area of Canmore, where there's an excellent selection of restaurants, pubs & shops.

My family and I felt very comfortable in our upgraded unit and loved being able to view the mountains throughout the day. My stepson has never been to the Rocky Mountains before, and it was his wish to see them before he returns to England this summer. He wanted me to let you know that the Solara Resort and Spa made him truly appreciate being in the Rocky Mountains more than if we had stayed someplace else. We thank you so much, and we look forward to returning, especially once the new pool and hot tub are reopened. I also want to add that my husband, who is a sports massage therapist, was extremely impressed with his massage therapist, and I would recommend anyone who stays at the resort to spend the little extra money to enjoy the beautiful "One Wellness Spa"; the Relaxation Room is phenomenal!

There was a group of 8 of us and we reserved 2 rooms. Both rooms were beautiful, very comfortable and clean. We decided to cook one of the night we were there because of the amenities offered in the room we were able to host everyone together at once in one of the rooms. The location was good and walking distance to downtown Canmore where we spent one night out as well. Will definitely be looking to re-book in the near future.
Thanks,
Connor
