Solo Liquor Bankview

The staff have been so wonderful each time that we've gone there, even my three year old daughter loves them. We can't just make a quick stop on the way by, she needs to go in too. She can even spot it in the middle of the night. We've asked that they bring in a new product, and we were so happy that they took us up on our request. This is my favourite liquor store.

I'm not sure what some people are referring to when they say there is a great selection there. I have counted about six varieties of white wine in the whole store. I would like to echo the experience of others; absolutely terrible service, varying from indifferent to downright rude. I can only conclude that the owners of the store are making an ok profit and therefore care nothing about customer service. Personally, I have chosen- even though I live a block away- to shop anywhere but there unless I am in the middle of cooking something and need wine right away for the recipe.

I've gone in a more than a few times, the selection is good. The staff however, I'm not sure what the problem is. Every time I walk in they are doing something under the desk and listening to what sounds like a speach or something in another language. I say hello and smile, they don't respond. I get my stuff and put it in the counter. They usually keep doing what they are doing for a few minuets and don't acknowledge that I'm there. Maybe they are busy... I wait politely... nothing... it gets to the point where you wonder if maybe they didn't notice you are there. Then they will grab the bottles and scan them through without making any eye contact or acknowledgement, say the price. I say visa, try to look them in the eye and smile, but they will look directly from the cash register to the one side of the room, then over my head and to the door so as to avoid any eye contact. I smile anyways and say thank you, have a nice day. No reply, possible slight look of annoyance, looking away from me...

And that's what happens every time without fail... don't know what to make of it... anyone else have the same experience?
