Would not recommend this gym. The parking sucks. They have personal trainers that do 5-10 people in a Group and take up the entire free weight area ( upstairs and down) You have to tip toe around them to even fill up your water. Free weights only go up to 40 pounds ( most gyms go up to 70-80 lbs). When I first signed up ( 9 month ago) the assistant manager lied to me and said” it was the last day of promotion” so she pushed and pushed for me to sign up ( I was only there to get an idea of pricing). I later found out it wasnt a promotion because other people were paying the same price.

I have been going to Spa Lady Canyon Meadows for the last year. Great gym with excellent customer service. Really enjoy the facility its one of my favorite ones (used to go to Westbrook and TransCanada for a bit). I like how there is a second level and lots of open-space for body weight workouts. The Restorative Yoga Class with Debbie (Tuesday) is awesome too.

Not a fan they keep wanting more money even after you cancel. After one year should you not be asked to come in and renew if you sign up for one year? But it keeps on going and you have to pay regardless. Such a waste of money and my time. Get more joy out of walking the dog then going there.

Extremely disappointed with SpaLady. When I first signed up I was told the only requirement to cancel is 30 days notice. I decided to part ways with my membership, gave my trainer notice and called the front desk to make sure I was okay to cancel, the lady said yes and confirmed over the phone that only 30 days written notice is required. I showed up to the gym a couple days later to provide written notice and was greeted with a $103.95 processing fee for cancellation. The cancellation couldn't be processed without this payment so in order to avoid another lapse on the biweekly payment cutoff I reluctantly paid the fee. I was given the rest of my payment schedule at that time and was told the last payment wouldn't come out as I had already paid that fee (user fees) when I initially signed up ?? I confirmed with my personal trainer that I was entitled to another 5 training sessions for the remainder of my month and we planned the dates of those sessions together. 3 weeks later I'm arriving at the gym for session 3/5 to and was told I owe another $58 and was denied access to the gym unless I pay it. (By the way, I'm entitled to another 10 days at the gym before my membership fully expires.) The very rude young lady at the front desk said they 'don't always go over the extra fees during the original consultation process but they usually do'. I was not once told about a cancellation fee, user fees, training fees, and whatever other fees they now want to charge me for, but I do find it very convenient these things come to light only now that I'm parting ways. I've encouraged so many women in my circle to sign up for a membership with spa lady but will be sure to retract any positive comments I've had and will instead enlighten people on spa lady's unethical business practice. The parking stalls are either too narrow (lots of dents on my new car to show for it), or no parking spaces at all, poor air quality, filthy equipment, and lack of locations around the city. I tried the Westbrook location a number of times, there is never enough space to either park or work out there. Do yourself a favour, save yourself the headache and do not sign up with spa lady!

Love spa lady! This is my favorite location everyone is so nice. It's well maintained and always clean. The only thing is I'm still waiting on them to install a steam room, they said it would be coming end of summer but hadn't yet.

I have been called for months and harassed by these people after telling them I'm not interested. They're worse then telemarketers. Not happy.

User

Obviously I haven't been. But my fiancé goes here and is very happy. Lots of different classes to go to.

If you want a quiet place to work out with a 2 years contract this gym looks fine. BUT it is a very fishy business, they will do ANYTHING they can do to make you sign a contract once you get in there. I went there just by curiosity and not to sign a contract. What kind of business ask you for a driver licence ID, Credit Card/Bank account info or Debit card number on a "discovery appointment" ?? The assistant manager (as she mentioned her position it at least 10 times in 1 hour) was quite nice first but when I told her I knew how their business works (Creating this sense of emergency that you have to take the deal today or you probably won't have it tomorrow ) and that I was still prospecting around, she was suddenly rude.

User

I phoned them because I was simply hoping to get some information on their membership fee and their promotions. I talked to the manager and she would not give away any information of that unless I make an appointment and come into the gym. What kind of business is that?? I wonder it's because they don't have a fair set price for everyone and they charge more to those they think they can get more money from..?

Their facility is okay and I would enjoy classes but the business model is so fishy. So sad.
