Went to the Nationals yesterday with my daughter. This isnt the first year we've gone, we come yearly. We are never disappointed. We love the prairie dogs always a MUST. Got some great chuckles and always fun.Lots of this to do and a cheap day out. $5/person kids under 12 free (especially if u bring a picnic makes it cheap, we do thus and buy our drinks) with more than enough than enough to do , and lots of shade. Could use eome extra shade by the prairie dogs, as the stands are metal and in the heat get scorching hot (or bring a blanket to throw on there for the kids). Great parking staff, so helpful. No lines yesterdah either Keep it up.

User

This is such an amazing place to introduce your kids to horses.

You can wander through the stables meet & pat the horses then wander over and watch some indoor horse jumping. This is a great thing to do on a cold Calgary winter day.

Be sure to go, we visit about 20x a year!!!

User

My family and I are going to make The Nationals an annual event! Great food. Our kiddo loved the poney rides, train rides, wagon rides and merri-go-round!

It’s a lovely environment & atmosphere, even with a toddler and a baby. People are friendly.

The lobster roll was really good

The walk from the parking lot is not far...

SEE YAS NEXT YEAR

I've gone and watched shows at Spruce Meadows and now my daughter has ridden in a show there. I think it's a great venue for everyone, spectators and participants.

User

I try to visit Spruce Meadows every day but, in reality, it's more like four times per week. I take our two dogs and we visit Founders' Plaza where we say, "HI" to Ron and Marg. Then it's off to the corrals where we make a fuss of the horses. Very often, we meet other visitors who are enjoying their tour. The staff are always warm and friendly. Well done, Southern family.

User

I truly love Spruce as a competitor moms, staff is amazing to deal with and get help from. I do wish that Spruce had a bus that would accommodate people with wheelchairs and walkers as access Calgary will not go to Spruce as it is out of their city boundaries. unfortunately not all senior homes have there own busses . I know how much they would love and enjoy spruce as much as the rest of us do.

User

I have gone to the Masters almost every year since I was a child! Always love the event, cant wait to go cheer on the Canadian athletes again this year and for years to come!

User

I am never disappointed with the whole experience at Spruce Meadows.

User

I always love Spruce Meadows. What place could be better for a horse lover, all of the worlds top horses and riders in one place . The Pan American Cup was a less crowded event and that was great. I found a perfect place in the shade . Not much was open but I found a decent lunch and a great coffee . I will go back as often as I can .

User

Had a wonderful time at the Nationals yesterday, great horses and riders and the facility is AMAZING!

User

Great way to spend your day with family and loved ones.

User

Great place to hang out and relax, watching horse jumping. Low cost, clean, and beautiful.

User

Great for the entire family. The access to everything on the grounds really does make the experience enjoyable. My kids love walking around the barns seeing and petting all the horses. The staff is also very nice to visitors always willing to say hello and stop to show the kids tractors and other equipment.

You also can't beat the price (free) to almost all events.

Thanks for a great Canada Day .

User

Beautiful Christmas lights and decorations around the property! A fun thing to do especially with out of town visitors! Well done and thank you Spruce Meadows for this and for sharing your property with everyone to drive through and enjoy the magic and beauty of Christmas !

User

As a first time visitor to Spruce Meadows the experience was amazing. From the shuttle bus picking us up from the C Train and delivering us to the entry gate, to the 1st competition we watched at the Canadian ring to my first look at the International ring and meeting Beasley it was outstanding. The highlight was walking the course prior to the Derby. Have watched it on TV for years but to actually experience it live...there are no words. Would recommend everyone visit Spruce Meadows.

User

Amazing venue run by an amazing group of people!!!

User

A lovely walkabout and getting up close to pet the horses is a lovely bonus

User

10 of us visiting Alberta from Ontario. Our oldest granddaughter, a rider, said that Spruce Meadows was THE one place she wanted to visit. We all enjoyed it thouroughly.

User

I was very surprised to see some of the vulgar items being sold in some of the booths. I am not a prude but I don’t think “Fuck this shit” socks, and other such inscriptions, should be displayed where the children are standing. Put them in the back where an adult section can be set up. This isn’t late night at the Stampede but Christmas time for kids. Come on Spruce Meadows. If your vendors lack class on their own, give them some guidance. We should not have to cover their eyes on the way to having their picture taken with the reindeer. Merry Christmas.
