A huge thank you to Mr. Trevor and the Turner Valley Fire Department for teaching the children about fire safety today. The children (and parents;) had so much fun! We are very grateful for all that you do.

Science and art experimenting today with near expired milk, colours and soap! The children loved creating their reactions (the fat in the milk mixed with the soap) almost more than dying their papers. ... I ♥️ when science and art coincide, even more so when it’s an experience together outside🌲

It started with C, age 3. He came to preschool to teach us a new word “alchemist” with his gloves and eye wear. ... We then went next door to borrow an ingredient from our best neighbour “Miss Bonnie” (vinegar). ... Then, oh then, we found a”print” in the snow. It MUST be a green dinosaur! “We have to build a trap and make a potion to turn the this green dinosaur blue...”... ... Emergent curriculum, P L A Y, child lead and so so much fun. Thank you C for guiding our curriculum today. Even though my intention went out the door, your version was so enlightening. #ChildrenInspired #EmergentCurriculum

Our Monday class has displayed an interest in “building” for quit some time. ... They have built pipe systems, water harvest systems, traps etc. ... We are very grateful for our neighbour Chelsea from @vogel_rustic_recreations not only for opening up her workshop and teaching us the safety and tools that happen with our scrap wood materials but for these little pieces that we will be RECREATED. ...... The children have already started designing a bridge, plane, dinosaur and bus. ✨We are very excited for this project to unfold✨

Hiding under the “snow blanket” and exploring on our field trip today at the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area. ... In 1987, Sandy and his wife Ann donated nearly 2,000 acres of their land to the Province of Alberta! We are very grateful for this space and all those that work to conserve and share it.

User

The children started the process of sewing their own napkins for preschool! ... They enjoyed choosing their own fabric and especially pushing the “pedal”. Meal time just became even more special! Thank you Mrs. Heather💛

We hope everyone is having a great start to 2019. We’re getting excited to have the kids back next week♥️! ... This past year has been fruitful with challenges, successes and so much learning together. We are grateful for our little community and cannot wait for what 2 0 1 9 will bring✨.

#FavouriteBookFriday Mousekin’s Christmas Eve by Edna Miller. ... One of the many talents Mrs. Heather has is thrifting and finding absolute gems second hand. ... The saddest thing about Edna Miller's Mousekins series is that they are no longer in print, so if you find one in your search, hold it close.

User

“I wish for an ambulance” A, age 4. ... We wrote down the children’s wishes for 2018 and they “designed” their ornaments. ... We hope your holidays are filled with love, laughter and good memories are created with you and yours.
... With so much love, Heather & Ash

My daughter love her teacher Ashley and always wakes up at the morning all excited to go to preschool and see her friends. Ashley is awesome with kids. I really love the idea of being outside as much as they can, using natural materials for making arts and just teaching these kids respect the nature.

Thank you Ashley! I would like to see kindergarten with the same philosophy.

User

Cannot recommend this program enough! Created straight from the heart by an amazing woman, mum and educator... cannot wait to see what adventures are in store for Spruce Tips!
